I was thinking about fishing in dungeons and how it's basically fetid water fishing, which makes some sense, but I imagine in some dungeons the pool might be in a dark enough and deep enough area that it may be appropriate to have deep-sea fish, too.

Other reasons might give to their appropriateness to deep dungeon areas : a lot are ugly like monsters, some are fantastic and magical, others are bio-luminescent.

    Some examples.

    Fangtooth or Ogrefish

    Sea toad

    Deep sea dragonfish

    Snailfish

    Flabby whalefish

    Anglerfish

    Barreleye
    [IMG]
    Hadal snailfish

    Blobfish

    Roundnose grenadier

Also stuff I hope to see.

    Electric eels (In the oceans)
Players would get shocked by them.

Jellyfish (The sea-borne equivalent of the slime)

Here's the best online screencap of a jellyfish I could find in Terraria, where they're common in underground pools and are a light source...

Some type of jellyfish part like a radiant 'jellyfish heart' that emanates the light would make a good alchemy reagent.

How about the blast from the past, the coelacanth?

    @Traveller13

Coelacanth would be cool and make sense in dungeons, too

Btw as long as this is open for general fishy ideas. My favorite type of fish to eat is still not in the game.

    The sole

I also suspect eventually we'll get tropical fish like barracuda, snapper, grouper, parrotfish, wrasse (cave wrasse), etc so ill not mention it.

Also, it seems to me it might make sense to feature some of the stranger fish at Shardfalls. Fishing at the red waters around Paladis and only finding common fish like trout when you have strange alien plants and such is a bit off.

Snailfish btw has many varieties, theres one called a purity snailfish.

Giving us some reason, any reason, to go into those areas ( plus more reasons to "explore" town areas, like botany, plant collecting for alchemy and cooking etc) is a must.

I spent some otherwise useless time looking for player dungeons in celestis today and realized how beautiful the upper island area in the back is. Most players would never ever go back there because they know there's no vendors there, there's nothing back there, no dynamism.

It's such an easy thing to add and change about the game that would enhance it's sandboxness... why not do it !!
