what noticeable differences are people seeing when playing R5? What do you like best or least about it? Performance and Login issues have greatly improved

best : better lighting, compass, combat (!!), performance
worst : took away double tap 'w' to run, not comfortable on trackpad

Num Lock turns on auto-run. I'm glad it was changed to a single button, as double-tapping never worked consistently in prior releases.

That's great if you're on a desktop keyboard, but I'm on a macbook pro

    I don't have a numlock key, and I don't have a 10 key side keyboard either.

double tapping was consistent for me.

Same setup here. You can re-map the keys. I put it on ~ Would prefer double tap again, but at least it's still an option.

I'm starting to like the conversation window a *little* better. Chat is much more local, and conversing with npc's is more to my taste than before. I'm glad you still need to pay attention to the information & journal to follow on quest leads, key quest information is not offered without you specifically seeking it.
However I'm still finding the focus on the chat window very frustrating. I click on an npc and start typing and I have shortcuts opening and closing windows before I realise what's happening.

Num lock, or in the case of people with macs, uh... tough luck, remap it to something else.

I know macs are only like 16 percent of users of this game, but I feel like the devs sometimes with their terminology (eg. "mouse scroll wheel" in an age of multi-touch trackpads and touch screens)

ought to sit in front of a modern machine / keyboard once in a while.

Visions of beige, giant-key coffee-encrusted keyboards complete with integrated 10 key to the right, F keys up to F14, with ancient food particles and tired developers hunched over them,

inevitably connected to some powerhouse alienware machine with a case design straight out of 1999, come to mind :)

Are people really moaning about the choice of remappable keys? Nobody cares about mac users, just be happy you dont get a virus every 5 seconds.

Anyway, pointless things aside, I found the lighting irritating because my it went too dark in the sewers, I could not see at all really and had to play it on my 2nd smaller screen.

Other than that I kind of enjoyed the new skills, obviously very basic.
