Emotes we need/would like to see in SotA (Sticky please!)

Fluid, extended (multi-clause paragraph at the least), but non-scatological and non-obscene cursing.

"May the fleas of a thousand syphilitic and incontinent camels bearing leaking piles of rotting sea-debris dripping with slime and festooned with every variegated variation of venemous flies, infest the running sores of stupidity and senselessness which you are the unchallengeable world's champion bearer and source of!"

With lots of active gesturing and stamping of feet, too.

That could be a function of the ' /insult ' emote. A random insult could be selected from a pool of insults, so that you could emote ' /insult ' multiple times without repeating yourself.

Doesn't second life have a way to make your own? Because this is something that could really use crowd sourcing. Let someone make 100 different dance moves and such.

I'd like to see: crafting and RP->improve a city's culture rating->people discover new recs and emotes

I don't want a huge list of emotes. Many games allow you to emote but don't back it up with any animations because animations are costly.

How about something like Comic Chat's emotion wheel? Anyone remember that? I think that would be more interesting.

Emotes are so 1999. Scratch that, they're so 1991 (when MU*'s were the rage).

I totally agree with this statement. I love the fact that they are crowdsourcing this game. It gives modders the chance to create content that actually makes it in the official title. At the same time, it allows a lot more fluff in the game, and lets the development team focus on the core game mechanics. I would love for there to be a 100 different dance moves, but I think we would all prefer the game be of the highest quality and finished on schedule.

Oh, and speaking of "smart emotes", I would like to see your character lay down and go to sleep if you are AFK too long.

Emotes: you exit the game as an unfurling mushroom cloud (no larger than your toon of course!)


Of course you can't see yourself exploding, you just exited the game, but everybody else sees you exploding in anger and frustration over some petty disagreement, thinking that it was a befitting termination of your session.

Emotes can be pretty dire like "Golf tee shot in LOTRO" but I suppose they amuse the kids.
If sensible and add something to the gameplay they are ok.
