Engraving Effects

I searched for some of the effects of Engraving kits and came up with not much

It doesn't seem like you can upgrade Prosperity/Artisan

To a pickaxe, gold engraving +1 = +30% gather time, +3 Mining Level, -40 Durability

 

No, you can't upgrade artisan or prosperity tools at this time. The bonuses from the engraving kits depend on the tool you are trying to upgrade. From another thread:

 

thanks for posting all this. I'm glad to have actually tested this out. I've heard a lot of stuff about how engraved tools don't help much the higher the level we are... I'm not sure that's true.

Having a True Bronze Engraving adds a +5 level to the skill (not the actual level of your skill, but the bonus to the actual craft the skill increases) So at level 100 carpentry I might have what a 70 carpentry skill, adding 5 points to that is equivelant to having a level 115 skill.... that's rather significant considering going from level 100 to 101 is the same XP to get from 1-100.

So if I understand this correctly, these engraving kits get better the higher the level our skill is! not the other way around.

 

Yeah, true bronze is somewhat expensive to craft, but more than pays for itself.

 

I like true bronze for harvesting. But Silver engraved tools for crafting will increase your exceptional item chance.

 

What is the bonus for silver engraving?

 

+15% Production Time Bonus
+ 2% Exceptional Item Chance

Again this is for the carpentry hammer, tailor scissors, and smithing hammer. I do not know what the bonus is for other tools. For crafting weapons and armors, exceptional item chance is all that counts!
