Exotic weapons and other races

I fully expect the game to be built around Ultima's European cultural background, and I support keeping within that setting and not being wildly eclectic, but there may be cases where some items, especially weapons, can be inspired from products in other cultures. There are some examples of bladed weapons that didn't get developed in Europe, but there's no reason they couldn't have, since there was a great deal of odd weapons created that didn't end up being popular or widely used -- and further you have a variety of non-human races whose weapons might naturally have a different style. Ultima has already done this with the Gargoyles, and items like the boomerang, but inspiration could be a lot more modest than that.
