[Expected]Perpetual Siege on New Britannian Market for some people - no devotionals

I removed all my devotionals on Thursday evening, players are still reporting my POT is under siege on the overland map.

For some of these people entering my town, logging off and logging in made the siege go away. Even as late as last night a player went through the siege to get to New Britannian Market.

I have not noticed a bug report for this (I asked each of them to report) so I am reporting it myself today from work.

I had all 11 devotionals up most of Thursday and into the evening and removed them at that time - I could not reproduce this myself with alternate accounts, so my assumption is that this is somehow client-based.

ie. Anyone who saw the siege at some point, still sees it. But once the siege cleared for one account it is cleared for all accounts logged in through the same computer/install.

 

+1 on this, tried going in on Saturday and couldn't because of siege.

I reported a similar issue and it got flagged as "expected". Still looks like a bug to me.

I exited my town last night and saw the siege again on the overland map. I didn't even have to go through the instance. Maybe the Obsidians just like to park their burning wagons next to my town.

 

This is currently expected based on the code for the current design. Every user has their own local knowledge for what is or is not inside of the town. For that player to stop seeing sieges, they ought to fully load into your POT, observe that there are no devotionals, and should no longer see sieges when attempting to load into the scene.

Until then, they may continue to locally see sieges for the scene. We are changing the way this works for an upcoming release.

Unfortunately I can't reach those players who aren't coming to town because they're waiting for the siege to clear (I don't know who they are) :/

So even defeating the cabalists has no effect on anyone else?

It would be nice if there was a way to flush that data.

 

wait, does that mean i will never see a pot being sieged unless i've been in it since they put a devotional up?
