@Lum the Mad First off I want to say what a wonderful job this reworked scene. Masterful work. Spoiler What I loved about it I believe that the dialogue with Samael when he's with Muriel has been reworked a tiny bit. While I never gave it a thorough read, I believe there were some new keywords. I love the Samael turns into a companion. Well he's not just a companion, he's a superman. With 15K hit points I don't think he's dieing anytime soon. I enjoy that he will also fight alongside you in the battles that you encounter along the way in this scene. I talked to Samael first and got him to be my companion. But when I talked to Muriel right after that, Samael told me to leave them alone, that he doesn't want my help, that he won't translate what Muriel is saying, and to leave them. This would be an appropriate response except that he already agreed to accompany me on my journey inside Malice. So I'm not sure why he's still angry at me. And I can understand what Muriel is saying. That I encountered only a handful of skeletons in the room after the intial discussion with Samael was better. And the fact that Samael helps me out seems like a good thing. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but while Samael accompanies you he gives you hints along the way about what to do or things you should pay attention to. He'll give you feedback about the first barrier, that it must be breeched somehow. Maybe he could mention that there are things you should find nearby that will take the barrier down. Whe you are near the first skeleton, the one by the barrier, he hints that the skeleton may be important. And he does that for the others as well. All are great additions to aid the player along. My only issue is that you need to pay attention to the chat window to see these hints. But I'm not sure what could be done to draw attention to the additional dialogue added to the chat window. Audible clues like him mumbling? Visual clues, like a pop up text. Both have negatives to them. Or maybe journal entries? Or more Samael dialogue about the barrier that you would get by talking to him about the barrier? I'm not sure what, or who, someone would check if they were having problems. But I'm glad I don't need to come up with a solution for that. The small section of mobs after the the lich fight has been cleared out a bit, not as many mobs as before. That's good. Did I say Samael is a beast. I let him do a lot of the fighting and he just mowed down stuff. As long as the stuff doesn't do major damage to me, he is more than capable of killing the stuff on his own. Well the summoning whistle works. I enraged Anapa and he called all these mobs to his aid. I didn't realize that there 4 of them, so I died. I had to summon Samael back after ressing, which wasn't a problem providing I knew that I had the whistle. This could be missed if you weren't watching the chat log when you clicked Goodbye when talking to Samael when he joined you the first time. And as I get to Sequanna the end, I hope, is in site. I was never able to get Samael to finish the quest for me on live. The best that anyone at Portalarium could do was to tell me that my flags were screwed up. But they couldn't figure out what. So I help out hope that it was something with the Samael sequence. Nope. I talked to Samael and got the message to ask him about the ring. But talking to him he just says he doesn't want to talk about the ring. It still seems that there is a flag somewhere in the past that messes up the final dialogue with Samael preventing me from completing the quest. so it looks like the final part fo this quest wasn't touched at all. What could be improved - As mentioned above, that Samael provides hints I the chat window as you journey through Malice might be considered a negative. Maybe this is a compromise, I'm not sure. - I am Level 80 and there's a yellow Lich Archer that has to be fought. Now this might not be a problem given Samael is fighting with me, but here's my concerns. 1) How quickly would the lich kill me if I was lower level? 2) As I journey down the windy path in that area, (Area: Malice (Novia_R5_Hills03_Malice) Loc: (111.5, -8.4, 411.2) DBG: Tm92aWFfUjVfSGlsbHMwM19NYWxpY2V8fCgxMTEuNTQzLCAtOC4zODEsIDQxMS4yMTQpfCgwLCAwLjI0NywgMCwgLTAuOTY5KXwtNDI4LjA4NDZ8MjAuNzg1NjV8Mi42MTU0NDU= ) Samael has a real hard time following me down that windy path, so I'm not sure how useful he would be in that fight. In fact he gets stuck at Area: Malice (Novia_R5_Hills03_Malice) Loc: (107.6, -13.8, 405.0) DBG: Tm92aWFfUjVfSGlsbHMwM19NYWxpY2V8fCgxMDcuNjQzLCAtMTMuNzk2LCA0MDUuMDEpfCgwLCAtMC4wMDMsIDAsIDEpfDEwLjU2ODM5fDM5LjA1Njg3fDIuNjE1NDQ1 . At this point I could continue on by teleporting him to my location. 3) If you right click on Samael, I believe you see the regular set of pet commands. The dismiss command is there. Now I'm not sure what would happen if you dismiss him, I didn't want to try just in case it bugs out, I really wanted to get to the end to see if I could finally complete this quest (for multiple reasaons I can't finish it on live). 4) If he can be successfully dismissed, I believe that the summoning whistle he gives you could bring him back. But the only reason I know about the whistle is that I was reading the chat log. Maybe Samael could mention it as part of the closing dialogue back by Muriel. Bugs There were a few environmental bugs that I've reported. 1) trouble getting Samael down the windy path. 2) Samael isn't going past a doorway. But when I got into a fight just on the other side of the doorway, he teleported to me. But then had trouble going back the other way.
