Hi, I just would like to suggest that Portalarium improve the dual screen handling so that the game doesn't minimize while in full screen mode. All my other games let me do this (not all but most), anyway I find it much easier to play when I can quickly browse out and still see what is going on. I know I can run in winded mode but I don't want to.

    thx

windowed or full I'd love to be able to move certain UI elements to a 2nd screen.

I don't want to use both monitors for Sota, I want to have Sota in full screen in one monitor and when I interact (change window) to say, firefox, I want Sota to stay viewable on the first monitor.

Got that. The point is dual screen support. Just saying I'd like that to include UI elements.

your welcome - windowed mode is easy to size to one screen, no game mechanic needed.

Sadly, I am used to it as I have SLI video cards and it doesn't like to play nice with two monitors during games. Even though SOTA doesn't use SLI.

Why? What are the benefits of full screen?
I am not sure how it was before i upgraded to Win10, but under Win10 i have no border at all.
    2x 2560x1440 and happy. :D

I've always found full screen to be more immersive but also easier on my video card. Not enough to use it personally as I like to be able to stop at any time and do something on the other screen.. But if I could go full screen and still go to the other to do something hassle free that'd be even better.

Hmm that works, I have been playing dual screen from the beginning:

Primary Monitor: SOTA @ 3440x1440 (windowed mode)
Secondary Monitor: 1920x1200 (for surfing during loading screens, looking up crafting recipes and English Novia maps.)

In the launcher options you can even set "Enable Borderless Window Mode" if the visible windows controls "kills mah immersion" :p (I don't do this)

Bowen pointed out possible performance issues but other than that how is Fullscreen better than Borderless window mode?

Hmm, well I am using Steam so I don't see that option unless I missed it??

I haven't tried the steam version yet, here try this:

Download the installer file, “SotAInstaller.exe” from this link:
    https://d2sx9mrt4zumaq.cloudfront.net/Installers/SotAInstaller.exe

Here are the instructions, if you scroll down to "Windows (Non-Steam)" section you can see a picture of the option I suggested you try? "Enable Borderless Window Mode"
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z-svq1OvcZwViqGxFCKdjH3NCn2LTfLuGny5qaAqjTM/pub

Also if you don't mind your game being in an actual window you can enable it from within the game.
Hope this helps, I couldn't imagine playing this game without a second monitor to pass time during loading screens.

    Cheers

If using the Steam launcher, windowed mode doesn't hide the taskbar:

Full screen mode on the other hand does:

That may be important if you are recording videos, depending on the method used.

I use the windowed mode and the Steam Launcher and my taskbar is hidden. Using Windows 10, not sure if that makes a difference. I love having 2 monitors and never have an issue with my taskbar showing when playing any game in windowed mode.

I'm using windows 8.1, but the problem is probably that I don't have "auto hide the taskbar" ticked, and I'm too lazy to change that setting when I'm making videos.

@mike11 did you ever get it to work? and If not what exactly is the issue at this point?

This has to work, it's been working for me since day 1...

I'm sorry you might want to reread the post if you still don't understand the issue.
