Fishing?

    Fishing will be in game, but not sure when it will be released. I'm sure it will be fun. There has been great feedback on it so search for the posts and give your ideas too. That will bring the posts up again so more can see the awesome ideas. Thanks for mentioning, I love having fishing in games.;)

    They basically just have to straight copy fishing from UO, nothing else.
    The hours i have spend fishing in that game.... and enjoying it same time... is crazy.

    I cant get it to link, probably user error but here is the title of one thread lol

    FISHING-IDEAS/BRAINSTORMING
    Oh Town Portal, the ideas in the fishing threads were awesome. Yes and I too did love the fishing in UO for so many aspects of it. I know we can expand on it.

    Have to say a good fishing system is a must IMHO. Many of us in PaxLair enjoy the sport and would enjoy a robust system UO was great and LOTRO had it's good points.

    Our own Governor Winfield has been known to get lost at sea many times while fishing!

    I did not enjoy LOTRO's fishing at all (and i still play now and then)... what did i miss, tempted to login and fish now... :)
    You could fish, and get some trophies, and that was basically it?

    In UO you had the danger of sea serpents and krakens(water ellies?), and... trash/boots. Fishing up monsters was deep sea only though, i guess we won't have deep sea in SoTA.
    You could also fish up a Message in a Bottle, with a treasure map in it, which honestly... has never been done since, and i have zero clue why. It was simply awesome.
    And ofcourse, the stat point fish + normal fish, which seems to be the norm in mmo's.

    Man... thinking back... UO did so many things correct.

    I will try and search for them, im not saying UO's system can't be made better, but it honestly did so many things right, and no mmorpg has even come close ever since.

    I guess WoW's fishing contests were pretty fun though!

    Fishing in uo was great. I still fish in uo, I can't wait to fish in sota.
