Former Ultima Online player hoping for a simular experience :)

    Hi all, UO was my first online game and to be honest afterwards there never was a game as good as that :)
    I played all the major MMORPG's and ofcourse graphic wise games improved and look stunning today but gameplay wise alot were disappointing.
    I realise this is not UO but i pledged and played 2-3 days now and i must say it gives me a good old feeling ":)
    So I am looking forward to this game alot ;)

    I have one question please.
    Today for example i tried out fishing and i got to lvl 25 in like 15 minutes ..... i thought that was fast.
    Does anyone know if there are plans for after the wipe to make skillgain slower, I would prefer a slower gain :) ?
    The one thing I loved about UO was the slow skill gain and the big reward feeling if you finally made it to GM, in my case GM Mage/Tamer.
    So I hope anyone knows more about this and would like to share that info :)

    I think the overall goal will give us a great sandbox and story. The systems are coming together, but, clearly the team hasn't had nearly the same amount of time UO has had to add to and tweak the experience. I think, ultimately it will hit it's stride sometime between Episode 1 and 2.

    Hi, level 25 is still pretty low. In UO that is the same as 25 skill points and gaining to about 75 in most UO skills is pretty easy, afterwards is when the work really starts. I'm sure you will find the same here.

    They purposely made the skill gain fairly quick at the start so that new players don't feel they have to grind to get to a level where they can "complete". It's an exponential curve so like Cypher Black says, it really slows down and there are no caps.

    I put all on my XP into one skill for three months (like adventurer level 80) and I only got the skill to 132... getting from 90 to 100 takes a bit but you can always go to 110 or 120 if you ever wanna be really good at something ;).
