Frustrated with Riei Firefeather

Where the heck is he? I've been running in circles around Wynton's Folly for three days trying to glimpse this snipe. I understand he spawns on the "plateau" - 90% of which are inaccessible, so I have no idea if I'm supposed to aggro a stationary mob, or if he randomly spawns anywhere on the playfield. I vaguely remember completing this a year ago but the bird was already aggroed and down in the valley. Anyone have any clues? I would totally appreciate any advice!

 

It's in a very specific place, atop the plateau, and the location is accessible exclusively by using some appropriately positioned stepping stones in the area of the ancient "temple" of the Oracle.

The temple is in a cul-de-sac, whose entrance is opposite to your scene entry point. Look for stairs and vertical dark stone blocks. Climb them (remember to power-jump), once atop, you should see its flaming silhouette in the distance.

less than 3 weeks in and oyu are even trying to fight it be happy.

 

Well, Weins, the other day we beat it in a large group to help a friend earn the feather required to learn the Summon Phoenix spell.

Even with some really good players in that group (basically everyone but me), it was a very tough fight - also because you have to kill it twice!

 

A W S O M E - 3 weeks in a killing one of the highest tier quest monster is difficult .

Should be impossible within 3 weeks to all but the elite few. But it is the game they created and it makes the games life that much sorter when end game is within a month

 

I agree we're still too damn fast.

But there were some seriously awesome players in that 8-slot group. @Sara Dreygon tanking and @margaritte healing is (already) an impressive combination.

I hope we don't run out of content too soon, however.

As far as the toughness of the mob, I cannot say but I fully expect a wipe-out in a few minutes.

I'll wager cynically however that the phoenix I need to kill is 100x more powerful than the best one I'll ever summon.

 

Well, the first time I tried to visit the flaming chicken, I lasted a whole two attacks. The first fireball hit for ~150, the second one critted for almost 300.

I was literally roasted while drawing my bow.

If you withstand its fury for full minutes while in solo, color me amazed.

 

Oh no, you can be un-amazed. I found him, and now I'm playing Age of Empires II for a bit.

He has all the patience of Smaug.

After it is killed it "Rises like a Phoenix", then you need to kill it again (be aware, it explodes when killed ). Then you can skin it and if you have gotten quest from Desolis ( advanced sun magic trainer) you get that Phoenix feather.

 

The summoned Phoenix resurrects too right?

 

The Phoenix can be summoned from the Sun Magic skill tree. It looks like a large flaming eagle, and acts as a light source.

It's abilities include a ranged Fire auto-attack, As well as an explosive fire attack centered around it as it dies. When the Phoenix dies, there is a chance it will revive and continue fighting.
