Is gust not supposed to do anything most of the time? Is that the design?

A lot of spells seem to work some of the time. Chain lightning being one of them as well...

More often than not, it does nothing.

A lot of skills have changes that will take place in the future as the combat system gets balanced. Gust is one of them, it is prevalent in pushing targets back, however, very much less so in stunning.

I think definitely for Gust to be a useful spell, especially in certain builds, it has to be reliable in pushing people back, then a chance of knocking them down and stunning.

We have some passive resists, but I believe there could be some active resists; so for instance, Defensive Stance could have protections against knockdowns. Resists against knockbacks could be partly effective; so for instance a 50% resist against knockback could knock you back only half the distance involved, rather than nullify the entire knockback.

I'd hope the animations also feel real; so for instance, someone resisting a knockback or knockdown would be shown bracing themselves and guarding their steps. Simply being pushed back, without any resistance with your legs, and then not being knocked down as well, feels sort of unreal.
