I just spent way too much time running around trying to find a simple farming supplies merchant. You would think that a town called "Harvest" would have something? There's even an area where it looks like you should find merchants standing around, as food stands, produce, and meats are out for display. I waited from late night through midday to see if they were perhaps just "off duty". Nothing, the goods are just sitting out in the open, no one selling them...

Many of the towns need a thorough NPC Vendor pass for consistency and completeness. You're lucky you weren't looking for a carpenter or butcher. Until said time your best bet is to stick to the more completed towns. And, as always, you'll find everything in Owls Head.

It's funny that probably everyone in the game understands that the "first town" is Owl's Head...and not just because it was the first one put into the game. I understand, until the vendors in all the other areas get polished, why they've left Owls so autonomous, but removing the basic recipe vendors from Solania, Westend, and Mudd has really made this "one stop shop" even worse.

Yeah, Harvest needs some love. - it's a great looking town, for me, one of the best. but it's still a little soulless.

My house is next to the town centre, but there are so few visitors that I've stopped stocking my vendor until I start selling more (I even reduced prices to no avail).

As an aside, it'd be interesting to have some vendor stats, something that lets you see if people are looking at the vendor or not...

Xenos may not have a full compliment; I haven't checked. But it does have both a carpenter and a butcher.
[edit] Besides being a gorgeousgorgeousgorgeous city.
