Maybe for future parts. What do developers think about traveling to other planets?

Not understanding why. We have 4 other landmasses coming in the future episodes. For future exploring and this isn't intended to be a space game. The lore behind it is basically your "essence" is drawn here. Not physical space travel.

    Perhaps I'm misunderstanding?

Yea like Sean said there's a lot more landmass (and ocean) to come in the game, so hard to see why at this point, although the devs and RG did suggest openness to it.

Personally, I'd say as long as they keep a fantasy feeling I don't see it as a problem. So for instance, if they make it like the space travel in The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen. I'm a little bothered by some of the modern stuff they're mixing in, since I don't think it fits or feels right, but it all depends on how its done.

Right now just looking forward to sea travel in Ep. 2.

We know of the next planned episodes. There are five in total with this one being Episode 1. Where each episode will bring in a lot more continents for New Britannia.

With each new episode comes new land mass and new places we can travel to. (It is crucial to the business model.)

So a new episode planned each year (say more likely 18-24 months to be more realistic).

Now mind you, apart from the continents for those new episodes we should see a couple of more places like the starting one with Arabella - The Isle of Storms.

The plan is for a 3x3 map of continents. So what we see in E1 is one continent in the 'middle'

You can see the outline of the coming continents in the benefactor logo in the game, for instance on the knight table.

Episode 2 adds continents of a similar size as Episode 1.

    Episode 3 being double E2

    XXO

    episode 4 same as E3
    XXO

Then episode 5 filling out with the biggest content increase of any episode

Previous Lord British games had interplanetary travel or characters were aware of life on other bodies. In SotA continuality, some of the life-harboring worlds hav been devastated as well. It is also conceivable that aliens are living on the planet. Here's hoping for interplanetary content.

Perhaps we'll see some more scenes (and event player towns) like the Isle of Storms in the future.

    Maybe Vermicious Knids ;)

I'm assuming if we have them we'd be able to reach those with an airship.

If they can add a few more continents eventually and population can support it, then I don't see why not. To the mun! *ahem* to the moon!

But I hope pay gates are not used. Free citizens should be able to access the entire world.

Each episode requires purchase. There were a number of pledges that came with access anywhere from E1 to all of them thru E5.

Technically, Martian Dreams is not Britannian. The Avatar time traveled on Earth and journeyed to Mars from Earth. I'm thinking specifically of the Moons in Britannian.

Perhaps for those who own both games there can be a gateway to another planet in the Star Citizen universe. Maybe there is a lunar rift set up in a museum in one of the cities there.

Like @Sean Silverfoot mentioned, its baked in since the continents are tied to purchased episodes.

I'm not exactly sure how they'll manage it in an immersive-friendly way. Probably its the reason why usable ships are E2 at least, so you'll need E2 to use a ship, so this opens things up to the new continents. I'm sure things like buying a ship ticket will also be available and so on.

Though to be honest the whole "Visitor" thing they got going with free trials is a bit strange to me. Its like the Oracle holds you hostage and doesn't allow you to do things until you pay her a ransom. I'm thinking they could have made the Hidden Vale the trial area somehow.
