I planted cotton in one of my planters, now I want to plant pumpkins. I don't get an option to uproot the cotton or plant something else in the planter...only water the existing cotton plant. How do I change what is planted?

Good question - now that I think of it, I haven't seen any option to change plantings if you have planted something that flowers again after you have harvested it (like cotton or small apple trees). The instructions for R25 don't mention this either. As of now I think you need to get a new planter to plant the pumpkins in.

This functionality is not yet in for agriculture as of R25. I'm going to trust that the developers will add in UI functionality to allow us to use a shovel or spade to remove the plant, or otherwise just right click on the planter space and choose "remove plant".

Not possible yet. Same thing with Apple trees.
But just go to a decorations dealer and buy extra Planting Beds and start a mini farm =)
You can find one on top of bank in Owls Head and in Kingsport bank if I'm not mistaken.

Another interesting tidbit some of my guildies found out...

You can place a planting bed, plant seeds, water them, then remove the entire planting bed and put it in a chest or in the bank. Then you can place another planting bed down, plant seeds.... rinse/repeat. They will all continue to grow while in storage!

When you place one of those planting beds back down in a day or two, the fully grown crops will be there ready to pick. We are guessing the growth timer doesn't stop even when you remove the entire planting bed.

I don't know if that is a bug or intended, but for now, you can have a seemingly endless virtual farm with even the smallest of space available. :D

Reported that exploit even before the feature was on the QA.

Oups - nope, that was a different exploit when I'm thinking about it. This one I sent to @Themo Lock for testing on the QA when reading through the dev+ release notes. Don't know if it was actually reported though.

OK, cool Spoon. Hopefully they will get that fixed in the next release or two.

If I take a 'submitted bug' and put it in a chest... hmm, this farming joke is too complex to go anywhere... nothing to see here. * wanders away lost in thought *

Umm...which of these are the bug submitted? My initial question was about not being able to change the type of plant in my planter. Is that reported as well as the planting indoors or plants growing in inventory?

    Thank you.

Hey guys! I thought i'd chime in here. I have completely re-worked the agriculture system to prevent items from growing while not on a plot and we will be seeing it in this release :). Also, I am in the process of adding the dig up functionality. Thanks for letting us know what you found and I look forward to seeing all the nice plants that you grow :).

Interesting. I planted 6 cotton seeds and the bushes grew...i harvested them and the whole plant disappeared. The plots are empty now....so Not sure if that is supposed to happen or not.

Yes, it was changed so they no longer auto replant, this is an older thread from a previous version.
