Most everyone knows that increasing the number of a particular glyph, decreasing the total number of glyphs or increasing the hand size will improve the chances of a glyph showing up when you need it.

But it is interesting to see how to maximize the potential occurrence with these three variables with the underlying assumption that the glyphs are always chosen truly randomly. Below in a graph that demonstrates this relationship. Hopefully it will help some people optimize the potential of their deck.

This was inspired by Isaiah's video post showing the frequency of spells in his deck.

Because there are 4 dimensions to this data and the reality is that nearly every permutation of the space will be used among the population of players, I could not just create a super simple chart. In addition, there may be other questions to ask, such as how to maximize the likelihood that two or more of two different glyphs occur in a deck while maintaining 3 other lesser common situational glyphs? The possibilities are limitless. The good news is that math is definitely your friend here.

The chart above is enough to get the idea and spread sheet linked has numbers. If there is something specific people would like to visualize in a certain way, just ask.

what can be done also is when picking your glyphs they all fall under 4 categories (kinda). By picking glyphs according to these 4 you can prepare a more useful deck.

AOE - any AOE spell or attack.
Single Target - any single target spell or attack
Heal - any heal spell, this would include the death spells that heal.
Buff - any buff spells or abilities that give you a slight edge. This would also include summons since they add DMG and can take DMG away from you.

with these 4 categories you can decide how many glyphs of each one would be useful in your deck. The point is to not wait for the exact glyph you want but one that is useful to your situation. For example if you go high AOE and then fight in crowds you will have many AOE glyphs to use. The goal is to not focus on exact glyphs but the usefulness of them.

This wont change between releases unless the deck gets a redesign.
