I didn't have notes from Edvard

Desctiption: Guard Captian Stanley asked for notes from Edvard, but I never obtained any notes. I thought I asked Edvard everything, but I must have missed something, or I never got the notes.

Steps: I have only done this one time so far. I am going to delete my character and try again, but I thought I would add this here anyway in case others have the same experience, and could add further context. Since I might not have time tonight.

Don't think you can actually leave Solace Bridge tutorial without the notes from Edvard.

 

I've done it multiple times in the Qa build, so it can be done.

 

How are you leaving the scene?

 

I didn't have the notes from Edvard either. But I was scribbling notes, so here's what I did in case that helps.

I saved Charlotte, so my Avatar, Charlotte, and Edvard were across the bridge. I see the text that she runs off, except that she continues to stand by Edvard. Good, rescued the child, so done with that. I took off to look around and came across Kiakis. I chatted with him. It was freaky -- I just entered the world but how did he know I'm not from this world? When done talking to Kiakis, I headed back to the bridge.

When near Edvard, I got a message that I am no longer escorting Edvard the Wanderer. That was news to me since I didn't know I was escorting him to begin with. I talked to Edvard, but he's like a broken record -- he has only one reply, something to the effect that we can talk about it after we leave. But he won't give me a clue how to leave, or notes (that honestly I had forgotten about). So, I took the boat and continued.

When I got to Soltown, I talked to Stanley, and discovered I did not have the notes. I do have a screenshot and I think I see what we may have missed. I probably did not click on boat. The second time I talked to him, that option didn't appear. Here are screenshots that show the dialog.

Editted; because of further testing

It may be that people unfamiliar with the the dialog system might miss geting the notes as there isn't a hint to talk to Edvard further if you do the Charlotte quest. There isn't anything to click on that prompts you to continue talking to him. If you turn and leave without further conversation, you can head to the boat and leave as you can interact with the boat to leave. It seems the boat becomes active the moment you converse with Edvard at the end of the quest, not if you have the notes.

You should be able to replicate this consistently by leaving via the boat by:
- picking the path of love from the Oracle (faster than other scenes since it places you right there, starting path doesn't matter in replicating the issue)
- Come into the scene and don't talk to Charlotte (you can skip talking to Charlotte, it doesn't matter if you have talked to her and complete that part of the quest or not, but it's just a fast way to get through all this)
- Get the key and open the gate
- talk to Edvard
- grab the bow
- talk to Edvard and click on ready
- kill stuff on the bridge
- talk to Edvard at the end of the bridge (double click on him)
- DON'T click on any keywords just head to the boat and leave

I've checked in a change where you have to have the notes before leaving with the boat (I thought it was already like that but instead it just wanted you to talk to Edvard) and made the failure message at the boat if you haven't clearer.
