    Please read all of this below prior to posting any bag or inventory related issues. It will help you understand what information we need from you when you find a bug :)

    Release 54 includes some major changes to how inventory and containers function in general. You can now have containers within containers! We believe these changes are excellent - many of these changes initially started out as community based suggestions.

    With that said, we need help testing it all. There is a ton of content to cover here and we want to make sure all possibilities are thoroughly reviewed prior to this release going live.

    Things to remember: some bugs may not be apparent until you log out and log back in.

    To check for inconsistencies, we ask that everyone please observe their inventory state *before* logging out. To know if something is off you'll have to check it again upon logging in.

    Please test moving items between the following locations:
    • Your Inventory
    • Bank
    • Housing lots
    • Chests on housing lots
    • Trade - including trial accounts that have trade restrictions
    • Mail
    • Crafting Station
    • Equipment slots (equip backpack with nested bags)
    • Loot chests, slain enemies, resource nodes, water wells
    • Mystery Boxes (replenishing snowball boxes, etc)
    • Giving items to NPCs for quests
    • All bagged items: supply bundles, unopened emote reward packs, unopened obsidian potion packs, etc.
    This is not a full list, it is merely a list to get the ball rolling.

    Other things to keep in mind:

    1) Transfer of items should be tested between different types of locations. Examples: inventory -> chest on lot AND chest on lot -> inventory. Both methods would need to be tested as they are two different type of transfers.

    2) Testing is needed with both non-container items, containers that contain other containers (1 and more) and containers that don't have any nested containers in it. Remember that your inventory, a bag within your inventory, and a bag within a bag within your inventory are all technically different locations. And when testing containers, don't forget the house deco items that can also serve as containers (furniture such as hutch, or a desk).

    3) Stacking: Attempt stacking, de-stacking (splitting) of items among all these various locations. The combinations are almost endless.

    More related inventory-related things that need to be tested include:
    • Vendors (listing/unlisting items, buying, selling, expired listings sent to bank after timeout or vendor picked up, fulfilled orders sent to bank)
    • Merchants (moving items to/from the shopping cart, buying, selling)
    • Unclaiming a Housing Lot - contents sent to bank (with chests that have nested bags)
    • "Magic Movers" - Send housing lot contents to storage, restore to lot, send to bank from storage (with chests that have nested bags)
    • Linked Equipment on Combat Decks (link backpack with nested bags)
    • Encumbrance
    • Container Item Limits
    • World Items (lootable items placed in the world, place in nested bag)
    • Batch Agriculture - sow seeds , water plants, harvest plants (place seeds and water in nested bag)
    • Supply Bundles (open from nested bag)

    FYI:

    • Containers may contain any number of nested containers. Containers can be placed anywhere that a non-container item can be placed, regardless of the container's contents.
    • Exception rules should still apply: there will still be item limits for containers and various other trade restrictions, for example.
    • Empty and non-empty containers can be sent via mail, but not through vendors.

    Title: Server:Transferitems: non-empty nested bag

    1. Dragging a non-empty bag into another bag causes the error to appear in the chat window in red "Server:Transferitems: non-empty nested bag".
    2. The non-empty bag that was just nested is red.
    3. You can still access the items in that red bag.
    4. You cannot move the bag that was just nested.
    (5. Probably unrelated, but logging out to menu after this resulted in an Altair 9000 error and logged me out? Only happened once.)
    6. Logging back in and resuming sees the non-empty bag I had just nested back in my main inventory.

    7. Addendum: If you do this with a bag from a lot to your inventory you get two errors:
    i) Failed to update lot
    ii) If you walk off the lot and try to access an item in the bag you get the error: ServerTransferItems: LoadBag (description: "srcBag"): failed to load bag [NotOwnedByYou]

    Steps to Reproduce: Drag non-empty bag into another bag that has items in it.

    Title: Placed chest on lot showing as "already looted"
    Reproduction Rate: Appears to reproduce each time the scene is loaded up - but not if resuming an already populated scene.

    Details:
    1. Logged in to my town after the error listed above with the nested bags.
    2. Chest was sitting partially open on my lot near my coordinates (chest is renamed to "Item Pickup Chest")
    3. When I attempted to open the chest, I received the message that it was already looted.
    4. Chest closed in or under 30 seconds and was then could interact normally. Exiting and "resuming" the game did not reproduce this behaviour.
    5. Exiting the game for a few minutes (then entering game) reproduces this.

    Details: If a container is in the bank, if you attempt to place another container inside it you get the error message "Containers cannot be placed inside other containers"
    Steps to Reproduce: Open Bank, Place container in bank, attempt to place a container within that container.

    This one should be fixed in the next build after 680. I can take a small bag in my inventory (empty) and put it in another bag (both empty and not empty, also in my inventory).
    Also tested by stacking them together when placed as deco, outside of my inventory - which I think is what you are describing here?

    I can place Bag B into Bag A. I cannot place Bag A into Bag B.

    I could not repro this. I'm not sure if this is the same exact chest as the one you mentioned in the prior report (which should be fixed in the next build) but if it is, it is probably related.

    You can now place items in nested bags! And place multiple levels deep apparently. But new bugs to list.

    Blocker? Yes, cannot leave anything in bank, no workaround.
    Details:
    1) Bank has 1433 of 5700 items in it.
    2) Any time I attempt to place items in the bank, I receive the pop-up "You cannot leave items here."
    3) I have tried placing multiple classes of items, none work.
    4) I am unable to open containers in the bank to test if I can put items within the container as a double-click moves them to my inventory, I will be reporting this as a separate bug.

    1) Open Bank
    2) Attempt to place item in the bank.

    Details: If an container is at 285 of 300 items, you can drop a container with more than 15 items in that container (ie. add a bag with 200 items and you now have 496 of 300 spots used)
    Logging out and back in still has the parent container over capacity.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Open container A, place items in it.
    2) Place container B with total items in it where A+B is greater number of items than container A should be able to hold.

    @Lexie - This bug still exists. For the first 30 seconds or so on scene-load I cannot open a chest on my lot, the lid is closed but the interaction icon is not lighting up and I reecive the pop-up that my chest was already looted.

    Title: Broadcast Automated Phonograph is acting as container in your inventory and breaking functionality when placed.
    Reproduction Rate: 100%
    Blocker? No, exiting the game and re-entering and not placing items in it allows it to work correctly.
    Details:
    1) When the POT Broadcast Automated Phonograph is in your inventory it shows as 0/300 items - you can place anything in it you wish (not just cylinders). 2) Placing this as a POT decoration with items contained breaks the interaction with the item, you cannot interact with it with no indication why.
    3) Picking up the automated phonograph, emptying it of items and placing it back on the map (empty) and attempting to interact with it results in a pop-up message that the jukebox is currently in use.
    4) Exiting the game and re-entering and NOT placing any items in the Broadcast Automated Phonograph allows you to place it and interact with it normally.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Have Broadcast Automated Phonograph (BAP) in inventory
    2) Place items in it
    3) Place BAP in POT - unable to interact with BAP.

    Title: Dragging a bag placed as decoration into a nested bag in inventory results in being unable to access that bag.

    1) For me this bag happened to be nested 4 deep.
    2) Placed Bag D within C within B within A, so Bag D was 4 bags deep.
    3) Drag (empty) Bag E from inventory into Bag D - works as intended, you can open Bag E.
    4) Drag (empty) Bag F that was placed as decoration into Bag E, you are unable to interact with this bag. Even if you drag it back to the lot it cannot be interacted with.
    5) !!!! Exiting and re-entering the game resulted in all items that were inside the parent bag caused all said items to be lost!!! (Will Bug Separately.)
    Steps to Reproduce:

    This then causes some other buggy behaviour (gotta run, sorry, will follow up later)
