The Current Tasks and the Knowledge Journal and the Task List were blank upon the first login to the QA server even I never did any Quest Reset in the Live Server R47 with that Avatar.
An entry appeared to the journal upon arrival next to Xenos.

I am supposed to have more entries in my journal just based on the quest items in my inventory.

 

This one has shown up on one of my live toons too over the last month, I thought it a remnant from logging in with another account

 

Thanks for the tip, but client restarts in the QA 48 did not resolve this issue.
And I have never done any Quest Resets with any of my Avatars in the Live Server.

 

No ive not reset either - I wasnt sure if it was a character I deleted that had the quest and it remained or somehow it carried from one account to another but one day I noticed the same quest for no reason on an account that wouldnt have had it

Alice's task list and the journal were blank already on October 27 according to the following forum post:

I think that doing 'Reset your current task list' at a Town Crier wiped both her journal and her task list on 12th of April. I had forgotten it but I remembered it now. lol

Do you happen to remember which town crier that could have been? That would be very strange, but it's worth looking into.

Testing further, I think you are on to something. "Reset Current task list' is affecting the journal.
Bug #: 52888. Marked as high priority.

 

It happened for two of my Avatars back on April 2017.
For 'Alice', it was the town crier of Aerie at Area: Novia_R7_City_Aerie Loc: (-2.8, 29.2, -87.7).
For 'Elene Sali', it was most likely the town crier of Soltown.

Upon more careful inspection, the Knowledge Journal seems to be intact.
