Is anyone else taking a lot more damage this release?

While I appreciate this advice, this doesn't address the sudden apparent 50% crit rates of certain mobs.

 

If they recently made armor piercing attacks ignore avoidance, that would be why.

If you avoided a crit it would be a normal hit instead of a crit. If piercing attacks have been changed, archers would most noticably getting more crits as they do use piercing shot.

Your dexterity will help mitigate crits. Raise your dex and try things to lower enemy dex and you should se a greater defense on your part

 

The change on fortify defenses from crit immunity to crit damage reduction was a big change, the death shield not worked vs crits bug right now is a problem, as empstrike said, the armor avoiding skills bypassing glancing blows( avoidance ) is a thing. Combine this all together and well, stuff is harder now.

 

@Mac2 Something definitely changed between this release and last - none of my kit changed, and it's not the old Death Shield bug not working with crits - I've been using the same gear between releases, and same buffs (death shield, air's embrace, Celestial Blessing), Dodge, Shrine of Compassion for +.5 dodge - and I'm taking a lot more critical hits (it's not just from archers using piercing shot). I'm AL 94.

 

Did anyone actually make a bug report about this? I searched and found nothing.

 

Oh yes, last release, and its in the known issues part of the patch update notes.

 

Hmmmm, I am not sure then what is up with that, mainly just been doing monkeys and I cannot seem to feel a difference there.

 

Ha! I should have looked in the known issues.

 

Looks like there may be some math bugs happening - at least with buffs.
