I think its about time that the steam descriptions for SotA get updated, they are currently very misleading.

    For some examples:
This is on the store page and is clearly wrong with persistence in place

The following is found at the top of the release 38 instructions! Come on, how are you posting instructions for release 38 and telling people that there will still be wipes? We've been persistent for a long time now. This is not just an outdated game description that has been up since the store page went up, this is information that a developer actively posted with this release.

Moving down to the Development Roadmap provided on the Store page in Steam we find some more inaccuracies about the current version of the game. Granted some of these are pretty minor but the skill points one especially is completely different from how its described and is a pretty big discrepancy.

"-Multiple Online Modes: Play how you want in one of two modes: Single Player Online or Open Multiplayer Online."

This is missing the friends online mode

"-Advancement: As you gain experience fighting and questing you gain levels which give you skill points that you can use with a trainer to purchase new skills or to raise your attributes.

Did we ever have skill points to spend at trainers?

"Control Points: Grab control of Vertas Pass and see how long you can hold it against ever increasing waves of Dark Elves."

Control points only have a few waves

"Dye-able Gear: Customize your gear by changing the colors"

Only cloth and non-pledge or addon items, so actually a very small % of gear used can actually be dyed or customized in any way.

Now, moving on to something that I feel is actually a pretty big deal and a pretty big source of confusion among both the current community and any new players looking at the game.

We desperately need for the devs to define or otherwise clarify what they feel Alpha and Beta stages are and where the game actually currently is in development.

Are we to believe that we are very close to a beta stage right now? Or are we to believe all the other spots where it is referred to as a "pre-alpha"??

Is a Q1 Beta still the plan with launch "shortly after"? Or is it not until mid 2017 as it says earlier on the store page?

It is small conflicting bits of information like this that confuse people about the state of the game, turns away potential new players, or turns off new players who buy the game expecting one thing and seeing something else.

It should be a simple matter for someone who is in the know to clarify the actual state of the game and either what the current plan for 2017 beta actually is or if it's unknown then just tell us that too instead of having different bits of info on the same store page. It would certainly give a lot of us a much more solid grounding for providing feedback and suggestions if we knew where the game was actually determined to be at right now.

@Berek perhaps you could bring these inaccuracies and conflicting bits of info to someone's attention and have them updated.

    thanks

@Berek Thanks for the reply, is there any chance that review and update will include this part of my post?

Think it will just continue to be players bickering over it, till the thread gets locked. Then you will be asked to make a new thread regardding your issue.
    Rinse and repeat.
( simply judging by the other times they have been asked to clarify it ? ) think the general answer was * they have chosen to call it early access, and are leaving it at that. *
