Jaanaford is Dedicated to... Honor?!

So it would appear that Jaanaford has a devotional to Honor, which is strange because it is the namesake of Jaana the Druidess, who was a Champion of Justice.

I might see how- superficially- with Resolute being dedicated to Courage, one might assume that we need Courage-based devotionals in the area.

However- AFAIK Jaanaford is not a stop on the Courage path. So the fact that it happens to be in S. Paladis along with Resolute is kind of irrelevant. It IS a stop on the Truth path. It is also where one first encounters a Faun, I believe, and I would imagine that the Avatar's desire to spare them from harm is motivated in Love. Truth + Love = Justice

Kiln is ALSO a stop on the Truth path... right after Jaanaford I believe. And since it takes a whole lotta Courage to head down into that Cistern... I think Honor is a better fit for Kiln anyway. Truth + Courage = Honor

I propose swapping out the Jaanaford and Kiln devotionals.

I'm submitting this as a bug because I am still holding out some hope that the dev team intends to follow their own lore. Truth for the Artifice pilgrims. Justice for the Fauns. Courage to fix the problem in the cistern.

Get it? Got it? Good! :D

Also I'm a little saucy that this doesn't jive with my RP. You nerfed my RP!:p:confused:

(Also too maybe consider a Fishing bonus instead of Agriculture? *pretty please* Let's be honest, there's not a lot of Agriculture going on in Jaanaford, and besides, tending crops is much more in alignment with Spirituality anyway.)

EDIT: And as @Alexander points out, Kiln is a farming community. :)

EDIT AGAIN: While we're holding a Town council meeting... What should be done about those tunnels we discovered underneath the town? (What tunnels you say? Exactly my point!)

    +1 !!!

Any lore to justify Kiln getting the devotional for Justice over Jaanaford? It's an inJUSTICE ;););)

(I think this could be because Jaanaford will play a role in Truth and Courage paths and JusticeHonor=Truth+Courage, am i right?)

What I find more strange is the fact that the citizens of Jaanaford had decided to re-erect this 'so-called' lost shrine after it had supposedly been buried under water due to a flood. (just going by the lore according to the caretaker).
Somehow, I've seem to have missed out on that council meeting where that decision was made :p.
If I were in attendance of said meeting, I would have suggested placing it in the cave, rather then defile our beloved fishing pond with this obelisk. Fishing in that pond just wont be the same anymore :( (wipes tear from eye).

Here is an approximation of what I witnessed in Jaanaford

i'm more disturbed that both caretakers insist that their actual name is caretaker.

that and, if the old one was lost to flood, that may not be the safest place to put it to prevent a repeat.

Yes, definitely. One would think that placing it in the middle of the pond would make it vulnerable to future floods.

Just as a suggestion, why not just swap the Fishing and Agriculture buffs on the shrines? Jaanaford is technically a fishing village, and Kiln is a farming community.
Just going for a compromise here :)

Edit: Thought I would throw this in for reference in support of the OP.

If both the virtues and the skill bonuses are flip-flopped... Well again that's why I'm posting this as a bug. I'm assuming somebody did this by mistake, and not intentionally.

    Another good point!

It's clear that the High Council of Jaanaford (@Jaanelle DeJure , @Alexander and me) has spoken and reached absolute majority:
    • Justice should be the devotional placed to remember Jaana
    • Fishing buff should be granted because well.. we're a fishing village
I'm invoking @Lord British himself (well no, actually any of the devs responsible for this lore will do) to answer our call!

Been thinking about this a bit. Although Jaanaford is located in South Paladis and is near Resolute, the story line seems to arc towards Truth, just based on my conversations with Jenna Karttunen, as well as Kiln.
Anyways, I will leave it for others to ponder on. Now, back to patching R40 :D

    :)
Well. Since its a PRT not a POT, I am not sure it has rights to request such a "change"... but, I like the homage to Janna myself!
It is along the Truth Quest pohysical path, but that should not impact its decision, unless there was truth plot IN the city of note.
Plus, Justice is Truth tempered by Love!
But.... so is Honor, and Jenna is a descendant, so does not need to follow the SAME, but nice that it is related.
If Lum set it as Honor, I am SURE he is right. :)

Nope, we have no rights but you do have them to create a JIRA bug for this ;) .... also we'd love the fishing buff for the town

Btw this is wrong: Honor is not Truth tempered by Love, Honor should be "Courage to seek and uphold the Truth"... or do Virtues have different meaning in New Britannia?

I still think its odd that Brittany isn't the center of Compassion, based on its history. But Aerie took over.
