Locked Open PvP

I hope they offer Open PvP and I hope joining that mode locks that character into it. I think many of us old timers remember the failure of faluccia and trammel in Ultima Online. If anyone joind a Open PvP mode they shouldn't be able to slide into a safer mode while they build up their castle then slide into Open PvP just when its convent.

So I gueess I am asking, please provide an Open PvP mode. And please warn anyone joining it that, that specific character will be locked in that mode. I'm assuming you are allowing a couple characters per account, if not, I guess I should as for that too!

 

It is obvious that there will be Open PvP. Probably consensual.

It does not have to be clairvoyant to know

 

Current plans are one character per account.

 

I think there will be an Open PvP option, but I don't think they will make it persistent, which is fine by me. I have friends who like PvP, and friends who don't. Since there will be only 1 char per account, I need to be able to switch between PvP and PvE.

 

You can't just say "Open PvP." You have to say what you actually want. The game is heavily instanced. There will be different modes, different flags or sliders, or other ways people will avoid PvP. There will likely be objectives which you're either attacking or defending...if not, what are you doing there?

Are you looking for a full FFA zone? No friendlies, no karma? What is the purpose of being here?

 

I think this will severely diminish the number of participants in PvP. If you try to force people to choose, I don't believe that most are going to take Full PvP forever.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so....

 

By Open PvP, I mean a mode where I can attack at will any other player who has also selected Open PvP. I don't have to request a duel, I don't have to be in a guild at war with another guild, and I don't have to be in a PvP zone. Fully by consent alone, but otherwise not limited among those who have elected to go Open PvP.

My reasons for being there are my own.

 

I hope they have safeguards against non flags interrupting with healing or being asses and jumping around in front of people. I have a few reasons why it should be isolated, but not locked. A long cool down timer maybe.

I enjoy making money more than anything, I don't want to get locked in to the one that gets the gimped economy.

 

It would be nice if you have this option to flee my WRATH Knight of Glory & Beer.

You could always start your own more brilliant thread instead of trying to make everyone else feel beneath you.

I won't be playing in that mode with my only account if I'm going to have to forego the other 3 online modes. I won't be getting a second account either - open PvP isn't important enough to me.

 

I think its a good idea to lock people into PvP who specifically choose that thats how they want to play from character creation on up. But if you dont want to play this "hardcore mode" you dont have to create a character thats full loot PvP only. Characters who are created this way will only see other "hardcore" characters in their game.
