Long term kickstarter, brand new Player

    Hi,
    OK I have followed SoTA since March 2013 when I pledged, I have not spent more than 5 mins ingame since then as I didn't want my first impressions to be of the Alpha early Beta phase, so...

    If I start playing now that final wipe has occurred will this mean any characters I create anything I build, create quests competed etc will stay with me into the Full Launch ?

    I don't mind the idea of the game being polished pre launch but would be upset if I spent a large amount of time getting to love an area and character only to have to restart at Launch.

    A massive thanks for all those players that have played through since 2013 to make it as good as I hope it will be, yours and the developers time I much appreciate.

    Hello and welcome, the game has entered a state of persistence which means no more wipes. There was mention of a possible "do over" for quests, but i believe that is intended to be optional.

    Welcome Lodgeij! Number one piece of advice - get involved with the community - there are so many great people and lots of fun events, it really makes a big difference.

    There is a roster of community events in your starting inventory, or at avatarscircle.com

    The radio stations (Radio Free Britannia and Avatars' Radio) are also good fun and a nice way to stay connected and enjoy some tunes - you will also have a Portable Aether Amplifier in your rewards, if you equip them you can listen to the stations in-game while you adventure, if you're into that sorta thing.

    Things are not complete, but it's getting there and I know I have been having lots of fun with the gameplay itself. Don't hesitate to ask for help!

    Welcome to the game FINALLY!!!
    We have been waiting on you so we could start playing. LOL

    Kidding aside, I think you are worried about things changing after you get used to them.
    I think as @Themo Lock stated before the game is now in persistence so your creations will not be wiped.

    However, some things may / will change.
    As new releases come out, some towns are being 'uncloned' .
    That means, if you are resident of one of these towns, the things you see in the town may change once uncloned.
    For example, I have a house in Harvest. It is currently using a template similar to Pax Lair but the town is being uncloned soon.
    My lot placement will not change but the scenery getting to and from my lot will be very different.
    This IS NOT a bad thing. From what I have seen of the uncloning process the change will be AMAZING.

    The upcoming changes will not prevent you from joining the game and playing without concern of the changes creating any issues for your creations.
    As in any dynamic game, things change but usually to something much better.
