My avatar looks different now, and it is not what I want

My female avatar wears the bob hairstyle. In R41 QA the hair looks better, but I don't like the face at all. If not in bright sunlight, it has a color that makes it look zombie-ish and the eyebrows make deep shadows around the eyes that make her look sinister. The face used to be smooth, but now it is more angular.

I understand the argument that "graphic improvements" were made that make the previous smooth face appear different, but players defined how their avatars look based on the previous graphics.

How about giving users who want it a free "New You" makeover to correct changes that you made in the avatar's appearance?

I noticed the change and I actually love the way my avatar looks now. That said, I agree that a *free* New You session is in order for those that aren't happy with their avatar looks.

I seem to remember we are to get a free redo once all the character custom options are in game, but until then will probably have to deal with it as is.

At this point, no matter how many sliders you move around... all avatars basically look the same. Too bad improvements to the system were pushed to ep2. I'll just wear a helm.

I think we have some differences we can do that help but yes hopefully they do more touch ups before release. One thing that bothers me especially in town wear is the looooooong neck my avatar has. I think if we just take an inch or two off of it that it would help so much. . Also lipstick colors added in or blush would help to differentiate and more hairstyles. I did not hear that all improvements were moved to ep 2 and I see little improvements here and there as we go a long. I think it is still a work in progress before release to touch up everything. Somethings seem to have a washed out affect with lighting tweaks and I think bug reporting as we find too washed out or not looking as well should be reported .

 

The case of the walking dead ..... wow looks so blah .... Did not know Dracula was in this game sucking the blood out of all the avatars

 

I'm a little worried - I am really glad you like the change - however, I prefer the R40 look much more, so guess I will just have to wait and see what I end up as

 

Lol well actually I like my character having really light skin, not joking. I love vampire, goth stuff. I think hair should be more vibrant colors. It has lost a lot of color. Now to give us lipstick and makeup

 

As always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Avatars are very personal so I understand your concern.

 

My avatar's hair has also changed colour, previously was brown and is now bright red it's indistinguishable from the scruchy hold the hair up.

 

There had been reports of the hair looking reddish in character creation, but basically brown in-game. Mine is a lot redder too - I never really noticed the scrunchie in my ponytail

My face did change quite a bit - it may have to do with overall lighting effects, I'm not sure. I seem to look a lot harsher and more menacing now

Although I did like some things about the Angelina Jolie look and we used to have eyelashes that worked
This model would be fantastic along with her coat and gorgeous hair.

One would think the new software would enhance rather than reduce the visual effects and colors.
I've taken several images and combined them showing 40 and 41 for some friends in the same place.
The only difference is the time of day taken. Some color saturation may be from the time of day on the male avatar.
The two females were taken in front of the same spot under inside lighting.
An amazing degrading of colors and detail are evident in R41.

Went through this with my characters hair several releases ago. I'm hoping that once they finalize the looks of the player characters that they will at least allow for one free 'New You' make over.
