    Hey Devs,

I really like what you have done with the Ore nodes. They are now visible due to their own innate metallic sheen and in the appropriate colours for each metal type as opposed to the unnatural blue pulsing glow. I like it, clever stuff.

Edit: Weird, the green pulsing glow is back on the ore. I've been mining for an hour and i'm pretty sure it wasn't there until now. Maybe its toned down, or intermittent?

Really, this unnatural glow isn't needed on Ore (is it folks?), Ore is pretty visible now, especially with the improved metallic graphics and ambient lighting, plus its universally the same colour on all Ore and clashes with the natural ore colour in all cases.

The lighting in general in darker place is much easier on the eyes. Visibility has greatly improved and that's a great change!

They should apply this to all resources.

Honestly, the only thing that you have to hunt for is the foraging stuff. Trees are distinctly visible; the bodies, you killed so you know where they are (and even have nameplates); the ore we've covered; Cotton bushes are obviously harvestable or not, which leaves the foragables...

I may be the odd one out but I actually prefer dark areas to be dark. A lot of ambient light when there's no light source is just.. odd. In the very least if they're going to do that they should add a source for the ambience.

I'd actually like them to give the survey distance skill a reason for existing :p but they seem to be reluctant to allow skill points spent there to be useful

Alot of ambient light but no ambience for me. The mine I was in yesterday just looked stupid.

    And which one was that?
Asking mainly because all the ones I've been in have had a very specific and fairly deep atmosphere.

I think Survey was simply the victim of lack of foresight and bad planning. It was a good idea that ended up not being needed as is. Then was never a high priority to 'fix'..

I don't know about anyone else but I find the lighting/shadows to be buggy when first entering the mine. Something isn't being applied right. But if you fiddle with your settings after entering it fixes itself.. of if you enter with night vision on also I think it's corrected.. but otherwise it does look very odd. Light shadows not being applied to mine tracks or other objects etc.

    Etcter Crag mines

It could be that - because it looked like the cart tracks were super bright. I will try the night vision trick to see if it corrects the view.

It might work if you change your reflection quality and then change it back. Seems to be what works for me. That's the same problem I've been seeing.. mining tracks are simply the most obvious since they're pretty long.. they stand out quite a bit.

Just tried fiddling with my settings in Elysium.. set my reflection to medium then back to high and that fixed it.

There's something wrong with the reflection quality setting reverting to low. I noticed this in epitaph.

@Bowen Bloodgood I changed reflections quality in the mine and it fixed the stupid look of the bright cart tracks, so it looks like it is defaulting to a bugged view for us both

If you mean the reagents, they give off quite a glow which makes them noticeable. If you're going after Nightshade (such as in the Skeleton encounters) wait for it to get dark and then turn OFF Night Vision or your Light spell and they will light up quite nicely. I've found that under NIght Vision everything is easily visible and recognizable EXCEPT reagents which work better with everything dark.
