    You can take the underworld passage: ardoris sewers > solania catacombs > soltown sewers > spectral mines.
    After reaching the mines you can leave to the overworld.

    Nice maps, Duffrey!

    Hint for Spectral Mines: the layout is 45 degrees tilted, not aligned with the cardinal points. I started drawing my map diagonally, then I realized it was easier to rotate of pi/4 the compass rose. And draw two layers, since many passages overlap from ground floor to raised/lowered floors.

    I suggest you do the same! ;)

    Thank you for the heads up. I indeed started already with the spectral mines map rotating the compass rose for 45 degrees. Currently I ended up with 3 layers but have not finished the final layout yet. Maybe I will try to combine all height levels in just one layer. Depends on how much clarity will suffer.

    Added the Soltown Sewers map. Also updated the Ardoris Sewers and Solania Catacombs map.

    So basically I can walk much faster from Solania to Ardoris if I use the Underground routes? With just a loading Screen I am in the Ardoris sewers, wheres I would have to walk for miles on the overland map?
    Will this be the case in the final game, too?

    If I remember rightly chris lately said somethig like its a shortcut but it will be much more dangerous to walk in the underworld.

    It's like this already. There are two underground networks:

    1) A straight line:

    Spectral Mines
    |
    Soltown Sewers <> Soltown
    |
    Solania Catacombs <> Solania
    |
    Ardoris Sewers <> Ardoris (<> boat to Kingsport)

    2) A ring (exact sequence may be a bit off, recalling from memory, will adjust once at home):

    Owl's Head Sewers <> Owl's Head
    |
    Owl's Nest
    |
    Ruins of Ravensmoor <> Ravensmoor
    |
    Kingsport Sewers <> Kingsport (<> boat to Ardoris)
    |
    Dragon's Cave
    |
    <wraps around to Owl's Head Sewers>

    Only a few designers can answer that. But IIRC some underground fast-and-dangerous movement tunnels have already been announced.

    Basically I love the idea that there is a huge underworld below Novia which is interconnected. But I thought that when you leave the sewers in Ardoris you would then enter a huge cavern system which would eventually lead to the other sewer entrances of other cities. Not that the sewers of Ardoris are directly connected to the sewers of Solania etc.
    Basically the sewers of Ardoris are as big as Ardoris and the sewers of Solania are as big as Solania. So what is there in between?
    Has someone created sewers below all of Novia? Even below the wilderness and swamps and lakes? Artificially?

    Failing that, on Chris, who said he created those sewers in spare time to test some authoring tools (thread referenced by Duffrey above).

    Why not! For hundred of years humankind on Novia basically lived underground. There are many references to extensive tunnels in lore. When you cross Necropolis, you'll end resurfacing WELL behind the Brightbone mountains, apparently many, many km away from the entrance. I guess this underworld will be vastly expanded beyond what is currently ingame, both as network, and as single dungeons.

    'Catacombs' is what they're calling it. I hope a lot of the underground world starts to look a lot more cavernous and natural too. There should be areas that are built up as well though, since these are supposed contain remnants and ruins of vast underground cities from when the entire population was forced below the surface during the great cataclysm. Sure they should have converted some of this into sewer systems directly beneath the existing surface towns, but that underlayer should be so much more.. ;-D

    I think we're just seeing a work in progress at the moment, and it will be greatly expanded in upcoming releases. For instance. All the hatches in The Vale currently warp straight to each other. I think eventually, those hatches will lead down to this underworld, which you'll have to navigate to get to the next hatch. Perhaps we're seeing the same thing under Novia. Right now the sewers are connecting directly, but the underworld will eventually be added between those links.
