First iteraton! I would say the barest framework is in-place with a first iteration of a ranking system. I would expect it all to be refined and expanded on.

I hate to see a monster-guild dominate a game though and hope there are reasons to not be in the largest guild simply because it's the largest.

right, thats why I am getting these questions out here now, so the devs have time to see the concerns early. :) Like I said I don't want to get upset just yet, I just have some concerns.

FYI we were planning on the initial minimum to be something low like 10

I'm not concerned (yet), first iteration and all of that.
The plaques though seems like only the first in a list of benefits gained from winning. So the plaque will be more of a history thing for the guild house.

thank you. I would suggest however that maybe you could lower it to a group level. What ever the amount of people you can fit into a party. Thats just my suggestion. ;) (the reason being is because of pvp scenes like mariah overlook that can only hold 16 people.. 2 parties.)

Exactly. That's the whole point in eve.
And to me it seems that's the whole point in SotA as well.
The minimum size is new to me as well.
I am against it tbh. Gives people the chance to hide in one man guilds.

    Hide?
There is no need to hide since you can decline an invitation for war.

Any thoughts on allowing terms and conditions of warfare between guilds?

Like "our 10 best against your 10 best"? I don't really see the point of 5000 member KAAOS guild from Asheron's Call fighting....anyone.

I think that's why we need to have PVP areas where it just doesn't matter. You go into the pvp area and consent for "everything" is given.

    No single player online mode.
    No /ignore.
No, I only want to fight this way or that way.
No, this is a player event.

That's what PVP areas are supposed to be. Player law rules, and sometimes that's not good depending on your point of view. But it's firmly established and there's no way to avoid the risks.

But Gw would be the perfect place for that.
With the eve online system. Give them seven days, give or take, and you can settle every score.

This sentiment may be common, it is certainly shared by The Bear Tavern (despite that earlier declaration by one of our more impulsive members :) ). It would be a shame for people in mixed (PvP/non) guilds to be excluded from guild wars. Perhaps guilds' members could flag themselves as warriors or bystanders in advance of the war and only the warriors (and any bystanders who are PvP flagged) would be involved in the war.

This should work like a PVP "pick up game".

"Hey, someone declared war on us. They have 10 players! Who want's in?"

It shouldn't be all or nothing. This also helps small guilds compete in a fair fight. We don't need more reasons to have people creating giant mega guilds just so they can always win by outnumbering everyone. That's not healthy game play.

this might be an option for the discussions we had about different levels of involvement. The Society/Town/Guild/Clan levels. Each one being separate from each other but then you can still have your guild wars and still be in the "Bears Tavern" :) The Bears Tavern could have its "militia" guild
