Our Coconuts are Fast!

I wanted to post this fact, because I get asked this question allot about "why I use my Coconuts for traveling?"

Our Coconuts are fast, very fast and incredibly fast, depending on how fast your Avatar can currently run. While encumbered, they do slow down, yet are still much faster than walking.

I don't use Deck Swapping for anything but mounting my Coconut Stead. I invested 100 gold into my Deck Swapping skill which gave me 1% skill in it and it says it takes 8 seconds to swap on the pop up when the skill is looked at within the skill tree, yet with 1% I actually count 24 seconds before the deck is swapped. I just added our coconuts to choice of equipment button and that works quite well for easy mounting, yet you can't fight with coconuts or open any doors (while mounted).

So, if you haven't felt that our coconuts are worth anything but for giggles, "you may want to take another look"
My coconuts now are difficult at times to travel within some average tight roads places between city buildings, "as if mounted and running a horse downtown would be".

I believe that our Avatar's speed is increased by something like; Train Dex+ Swiftness=speed... yet I cannot confirm this as the ~Time Lord~ is not exactly a know it all with all things of our game (surprised?)...

I currently have Dex 33 on my paperdoll, (subterfuge)Train Dex 46 and (light armor) Swiftness 46...
and I can say that the ~TL~ is very fast when using his coconuts...

Pretty sure tho, since you can't cast glyphs, skills like Sprint and (what's that other one??) from the Light Armour tree and the Air tree are both faster? And you are still holding your weapons while using these faster spells... ? Try it. Also, you can't cast defensive glyphs while holding them.. even healing.

Coconuts really do not seem faster than Sprint. Faster than plain old Walking.. but then I'd rather double click forward for that boost instead of taking time to arm coconuts.

 

Well, you can't use sprint on the overland map, so coconuts would be faster there.

 

I would like to be able to use glyphs with my coconuts, so my Stealth deck has them tied to it, and well you get the idea.. no point imo assigning coconuts to the deck swap mechanism...

I haven't tried or seen sprint used, but it does have a duration on it... *thinks of trying swiftness to see if I get a dex or normal speed boost*

You are right, coconuts are very fast there as well. It takes me seconds to cross the entire map of the hidden veil.

~Roads~
One other thing I'd like to see in our game is that our roads make us faster, otherwise they are just trails that look nice to help guide... but I don't really know how that would effect things like smuggling.

If you change decks while you are running with coconuts, you still run like they are equipped. Very useful and almost certainly a bug.

 

~Un Equipping Coconuts~
I haven't been able to un-equip coconuts by use of Deck Swapping... I've always just pressed "Y" and then switched decks that way when dismounting.

Coconuts definitely work and improve your speed. We have horses, animated, and in game. Why can't we have mounts in the VERY near future? It seems like the programming is in place and would require a minimum amount of integration. We can already sit and lay on objects.

I'm wondering if there would be any technical difficulties in this?
It is "one instance" on the overland map?

and what route does everyone think we should take?

We'd also have to rustle up some officiates to stand along the trails...

Could we actually do this? I'm not smart enough on our game tech to answer most of these questions...
