I was playing until this morning(8/3) and all of a sudden I get this error like all the time...

"[PELICAN] Network Congestion caused a disconnection from the game switch".

Might as well call it the death message because it kicks me out of the game and if it happens while I'm fighting... welllll.... yep more than likely... instant death.

    Reproduction Rate: Always
    Blocker? No
Details: I be playing like normal then I be kicked out of the game and I get this message.... "[PELICAN] Network Congestion caused a disconnection from the game switch". I do not have a bittorrnet client running at all which according to Jack Knyfe can kill the game client. I do not have any other application that generates network traffic. SoaA is the only one using the internet connection.
Steps to Reproduce: Get into the game into Britany Wharfs, then walk around or even standing for a bit of time, BOOM..... disconnected.
    User Specs:
    OS: Linux 4.6 Fedora 23 64bit
    CPU: AMD FX(tm)-9590 Eight-Core Processor (8) System RAM: 16059
GPU: GeForce GTX 960/PCIe/SSE2 GPU RAM: 1024
    SotA.EarlyAccess.Linux.64.454.Date.08.02.16

    Update:
I ran around in Britany Fields and Britany Central and didn't get disconnected... so I went back into Britany Wralfs and within 5 mins, I get disconnected.

I am going to do another test with windows.....

    Update:

Ok... did another series of tests under windows... ran thru Fields and Central with no problems...in Wharfs... there are many many LONG pauses where it I thought would get disconnected BUT... it recovers.. so I suspect it's an adjustment that Portalarium might need to do for Linux clients.

Here is the /bug info under windows posting just the User Specs: section....

    User Specs:
    OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601) 64bit
    CPU: AMD FX(tm)-9590 Eight-Core Processor (8) System RAM: 16332
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 GPU RAM: 4010
    SotA.EarlyAccess.Win.64.454.Date.08.02.16
    Area: Novia_R3_City_Brittany_Wharfs

    Update:

I was reading some of the bugs in this forum and I found another one with the same issue...

I see you mention Linux, which is what we have a known reproduction case for, but your system specs list Windows 7. Was this occurrence on Windows or Linux? :) Thanks for reporting.

    Hello Attenwood,

That PC has both Windows 7 AND Fedora installed. It's breaking under Linux. I ran the same tests under Windows to rule out my hardware in this issue.

Looking excellent here. I've been watching the network traffic. When I enter a scene with no other players. When players arrive and leave again. There are some spikes however they don't seem to be an issue and dramatically drop down after a moment. I'll keep watching. So far so good!

I confirn that since the last update everything seems to have back to normal. Actualy, I even wonder if the graphics haven't improved a little bit (they have according to my eyes).

I am glad that Port has puted the necessary efforts to solve this. Thank you!

I am having major problem as well in Brittany Alleys. Unable to enter more than just a few feet. I have the current 8/15 update but it has not been fixed so far.

I am also having an issue in Brittany Alleys.
Last night I got this error several times and finally just gave up.

    "[PELICAN] Network Congestion"

Each time I had to start over from my login screen.

Tonight I was roaming around and went to Parrot's Roost from New Holton. No issues in either place no problem entering places along the way.
As soon as I get to Brittany Alleys I enter and attempt to speak to the Town Crier. His dialog never populates with lots but only shows "Loading..."

After about 2 minutes of this it disconnects with the error.

I tried this several times with the same result.
Even tried with Single player mode with the same result.

I also tried to avoid the TC and got almost to the first block inside the gate and got the same error message.
This seems to be occurring more in BA than any other place for me.

    EDIT:
I just tried to enter via Brittany Central to Brittany Alleys.
I can go completely across Brittany Central with no issues.
As soon as I get past the gate I get a network issue icon on the screen.
Then as I walk or run across the bridge, the game freezes and give an error.
This time it gave ALTAIR 9000 Network Connection Closed by Client.
The second time it gave the Pelican Error.

If simply stand at the bridge and don't move for a minute or more the scene is stable but as soon as I try to move after that long rest, it crashes again.

    Thanks

    I am running an i-7 with 16gb ram 1920X1080 @Fastest

    Thanks for the reply,
I was very frustrated with all of the disconnects so took a short break from Brittany Alleys.
I went back in Friday evening and the disconnects were less frequent but still occurring similar to before.

I went in today (Saturday) and was not disconnected but did have the network warning popup several times.
It seemed as if there were not many players in the instance I was connected with so that may have made things better. I only saw two other players other than the game characters.

The good news is I was not disconnected or kicked out of the game.
    That is a great improvement.

    Thanks

yes, I am ......on several accounts. I was able to play with one account yesterday for a while but most of the time as well as this AM so many disconnects...can take about 2 or 3 steps and then it will disconnect over and over again. I finally gave up just now. I know it will be fixed...just a problem right now until it is. Thank you.
