Please add feminine titles

Now that we can fly our titles, I find it quite annoying that there is only male forms of the titles.

There should be:
Baroness
High Baroness
Lady
Lady Marshal
Royal Lady Marshal

Duchess
Lady of the Manor

Please consider giving those to us. As it is, my female character is not flying any title because .... High Baron Raven Swiftbow just doesn't sound right!

There are a couple above my own pay grade that are probably missing as well.

I'm sure someone will be adding them in a future release.

The LOTM have a number of titles by the looks of it :

"Grand Duchess"
"Princess"
"Archduchess"

However since I'm not that level, I don't know if they are missing (though I would suspect they are).

 

I used to feel the same way until about 5 days ago when I noticed that over 3/4 of civilized countries ( i.e. European countries) had decided to do away with sexism by allowing women to use the male titles. This means that in the future if we follow what they have decided, that we would never have to worry about being discriminated against based on our title because our title would EXACTLY MATCH A MALE TITLE. They are correct and we are wrong. I will now call myself Lord Marshall Amethest Stone instead of wanting, 3 week ago, Lady Marshall Amethyst Stone. Maybe someday you will understand what over 3/4 of civilized society has already decided they want. However, I want you to know that it is very important that you do not feel forced to agree with us. It also means that a woman who is attracted to another woman has the right to be called a Homosexual not a Lesbian if she so chooses. I would not be surprised if I am not banned from this site for what I just said.

 

With all the pronouns "We/Us" and "They". I'm not sure what your final opinion is, or if there was sarcasm in here.
Are you referring women as "we" or all people as "We" ?
Are you referring game-devs or government as "They" ?
Are you referring to the poster as "you" or game-devs as "you" ?

It's not my intent to pick apart your statement to belittle it.
But there seems to possibly be some decent comment and opinion in it, that I would just like to understand, and surly you shouldn't be banned for an opinion that is not derogatory to another class, etc.

Do you think characters who selected "female" (thus declaring a gender identity for their character, albeit there is no 3rd option for "undeclared"). should have female titles available?
Also, please note, that the ultima series has never been stationed in "modern times".

My only problem with any of the statement is insinuation that civilized countries are always European. A more appropriate statement, albeit still a bit euro-centric, would be to say "Western Civilization", but at least with that term you are only referring to a geographic area, and culture, and not implying a level of sophistication (civilized, etc).

This may be true. And I am not offended at all by your post.

But the game is "set" in a time period where this was not the norm. In the real world, I'll answer to anything without offense, including "Hey, you!" But in SotA, if they give me the option (and I hope they will), I will use feminine titles on my female characters and masculine titles on my male characters.

 

Adding the appropriate (missing) titles should not be difficult. I'm not playing a female char currently, but plan on adding one soon. She will NOT take kindly to being called Lord anything....
Just sayin.

Raven, I agree wholeheartedly. It seems odd to see my wife running around as Lord Jade. Just doesn't seem right, now does it? She pledged at Lord level but we just rather expected that she would receive the title of Lady.

 

This is planned for the second iteration of the titles.

Agree with the sentiment but not the 'banned' comment nor the right/wrong comment. One should be allowed to call oneself whichever version one so choses. More options are usually better.

Also note it is some countries in europe, not all. Some of them are too conservative.

Please note that for a game company that Port has an excellent track record on this, like the clothing items.

Since merchants and others have to be asked for their name and title I guess... it would be amazing that I could receive "name" requests from other players (like do you want to give your name and title to such : yes or no, in a popup), so that I would be able to show it only to people in my guild and party, and others I got to "know".

If it's not too hard I would like that feature, question of humility (very important)

Well I think it is so STUPID, I am FEMALE and dam proud of it, and PREFER female titles, I am a WOMAN and NOT A MAN ...... So the heck with the other countries, they have it wrong.... take a vote from woman only, and ask which we prefer male or female titles.... my vote will be FEMALE pls.... ty Chaox for those title u will be adding... ty
