Portalarium is raffling out a value of ~$50 000 total in game, prizes are player housing deeds!!!

Yes that is right. It sounds unbelievable but it is true.

So what does that mean?

In game if you earn enough gold you can buy Raffle tickets at the House Decoration Merchants (usually found upstairs in Banks).

You can buy as many raffle tickets as you want but can only win once in each of the two raffles.
There are going to be raffles in next release as well - but this one have more prizes than the usual ones.


But, Spoon, you said ~$50 000?


Yes, isn't it amazing?
Lets look at the value of what they are raffling away there.

Normally you buy the Player-Owned Town Deeds for Golden Crowns in game.

Golden Crowns sometimes drops in game as loot but more usually they are bought in the addon store where they are roughly $1.

Now those deeds on the Obsidian Merhcants cost a bunch of Golden Crowns:


But they are raffling those away:
Player-Owned Town Deeds (100):
Row: 40 x 85 = 3 400
Village: 30 x 165 = 4 950
Town: 20 x 450 = 9 000
City: 10 x 1050 = 10 500

THAT IS A GRAND TOTAL OF ~$ 27 850 just in player-town deeds!!!

For the Place Anywhere deeds it is even better - those are rare.
This since they are no longer sold in the addon store! (There might be more release in Episode 2, in a year or two).

Those are sometimes worth the double of player town deeds.

Also note that you need a house as well to place on such a deed, but those can also be gained for gold from the House merchants (upstairs in banks), if you were lucky enough to win a deed.

caveat, the values are estimates, depending on how you value Golden Crowns, and how the Player Marketplace value the expired ones, the total would vary as well.

Hmm...never participated Lot Deed Raffle before...may now it's the right time to do so!

About how long would you guess R52 will last?

 

You may laugh - as poor Sea Duke of Estgard, who is still tightly bound with the chains of localization, I usually not even own the amount of 10000 GP to even try to participate. (And I bet, with a city water deed for one of my ships to at least represent a glimpse of the Norgard fleet with having to pay tax for it the ship would sink faster than I would earn the needed tax.) The hard live of a rebel duke.

for newbies... just get the 500 game gold from the Oracle everyday and that will give you around 10k to 15k in a month... good enough for a couple of Tickets...

 

Sure, if you try to logon, what do you see (at least I do, just now)? Ready to launch: Approx. 2 hours. With 50 MBit connection and Steam.

 

Plus visit every NPC or player town in sight to get 100gp from the town crier. Lots of POSTS on the overland map

 

Just doing quests and exploring in HIghvale Outskirts earned me well over 10k actually.

Bought new armor alongside raffle ticket in player town before I even hit Resolute.

Ye sure people that played Sota even before official launch have lot of money and can buy lot of tickets but way I see it. When it's random, it's random. It's just pure luck. I would not buy more then one ticket even If I had money for it myself .

More so idea of living in someone else's house as an tenant is equeally appealing to me. Saw someone turning his house into inn where several people were living. That is pretty damn neat!

 

Hey, I am a Duke - so where are my peons earning me taxes?
Or the replenishing gold chest?
My problem is really, since I am involved deeply in the localization of the game, there is absolutely almost no time to play the game.
