pvp and direction of the game.

the decision to keep the buff to flag pvp has forced me to not like the direction this game is going. It is forcing pvp play which i refuse to do. I CAN NOT support a game that drives away its pve community with stupid changes like this. If you want to do this you SHOULD have a pvp only and a pve server. This has successfully driven us from the game, as we can not consciously support this.

 

You are wrong, it isn't forcing anything at all in the slightest.

 

It's not final, that buff may change, it's still relatively new. (I'm not a fan of it either as it benefits PvE more so than PvP, but I think they want more people testing multiplayer right now so thats why it's there)

 

They did reduce it by 5% this release from 25% to 20%

 

Yea and they'll prolly change it again. It was on my radar last release, but so long as they keep tweaking I'm not as worried about it as I was before, sure they heard others concerns and have acted on it.

 

It is +10% when playing MULTIPLAYER ONLINE ........and extra 10% if you are flagged PVP.
So I dont see a problem here tbh.
Before it was +25% for PVP flaged only and I agree, that was really not good move.

 

I agree. This new ratio is much better than the one before and a very good move on the part of Port. We'll be seeing more people in multiplayer mode now and the ones flagging themselves PvP will be doing it for the right reason (mostly).

 

It's not the AMOUNT, it's the PRINCIPLE of giving more to PvP that galls most of us.

 

I've always loved your viking icon. Nothing says murder, pillage, plunder, and PVP better than the image of a ship full of Berserkers.

 

I've been flagged for a bit now and I found that I still get more experience (for various reasons) playing SPO.

It is true for most people that flag!

 

If its any consolation, when I flag PvP in R37 I have a 10% bonus to exp however I have 50% less efficient at farming. This is why I dont flag and Im perfectly happy making tons more exp then someone flagged PvP.

I cant fathom how someone cant see this and would actually quit over such a meaningless thing.

 

It actually amazing how non-PvP people come to the forums and actually PvP so much about PvP.

But it makes no sense....... no one is stopping anyone from getting the extra (now) 10%......it's a choice you make.

It would be like a super fit and healthy person (my body is my temple and all that guff) complaining of someone eating a dirty double cheeseburger as they can't. Well they can....its just they choose not to.

Non the less I agree the bonus has to go away. It's just a lazy way to cover up a boring and meaningless pvp system.

 

I think I perfectly understand what you consider a principle however I completely and utterly disagree with the foundation and while I could elaborate on that for several paragraphs (I have in the past), I just wont now. Being upset about flagging PvP and only getting a 10% bonus when I am 50% less efficient at getting exp is silly enough. I dont even flag PvP any more since I can gain far more safer and efficient exp with the flag off.

Ill just state again that you guys are epic at PvP'ing the anti-PvP stance.
