I hope that in a while I can have my own POT and I have some questions for which I have not found an answer in the forum, so I open this thread to expose all the doubts that arise.

In a holdfast you can put 2 NPC buildings and 2 NPCs. Do the NPC buildings that are provided with the purchase of the POT have their own NPCs inside? If so, do these NPCs count towards the POT total? For example, every bank I've seen (I think) has three NPCs inside: a banker, an ornament merchant, and a housing merchant. If these three NPCs count towards the total, then I can't put a bank in a holdfast?

Regarding characters on the same account, I guess POTs are like houses. All my characters will have the same powers in the POT, is that correct? The name of the governor, will it change with each character or is it always the same?

How do the connection ballons or wagons work with other towns? Can you connect all the towns you want in a single ballon?

Are animals spawned by animal spawner an item or an npc?

Until the time comes, I'm sure I'll have tons more questions that I'll be adding to this thread. Excuse me if I get too heavy but for me it will be an important expense and I would like to have things very safe.

    Hi Lilith
The buildings are just buildings that place like deco, they don't have dedicated NPCs, you'd have to "staff" them with npcs of your choice, which do count against your limits.

However, you do get a "free" banker and town crier who stand at the docks/entry point and don't count against your NPC limits. I also don't bother with the banker NPC and just use the placeable remote storage device.

For town connections, when you set up your POT, you can specify so many permanent links which will be dev placed wagons to nearby POTs or npc towns, these are perma-wagons /boats typically and can only be placed in the central area - I was actually denied when I asked for all of this to be at one of the other town exits for design purposes, they HAVE to go in central only. However, the item you can buy in the COTO store to teleport to other POTs, these can be configured to a single destination - you'll need to buy multiples to have multiple destinations. However, if your POT is mostly for personal use, you can click/reconfigure the destination of a wagon as often as you like. When you see the boats/baloons that say "player owned towns" these are typically the dev-setup ones not the buy/place ones.

Animals spawned by animal spawners are items. You have to trip over 50 cats entering my town and they don't count against limits. ;)

Please feel free to message me in game - Shimizu, if you want to chat town stuff and deco stuff. I got my own town a couple years ago, but managed someone else's for a few years before that, so have a reasonably good understanding of the system.

They no longer place new POT teleporter as COTO shop has POT teleporters which allow players to customize same teleportation. (Ref: https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/player-owned-town-pot-owner-faq.165464/ )

Once you purchased a POT, you will receive all POT related items in reward window. All POT size get the same item list. Not sure if the list below is updated or not:

    Spawners bought in the store.

They DO count against your deco limit.

Sorry, yes well corrected. I meant just not as NPCs. Although, I must say, their cute little meowing faces are worth it!

I have five separate e-mail avatar accounts and a holdfast POT. My only NPC building is the Oracle, though as a POT owner you will get a full slate of everything possible.
I only post one NPC vendor (craft) on the POT land, and have a storage chest on a house lot that contains all the other NPC vendor options. That way, any of my avatars can pull up which every vendor I need for getting stuff, then I put the vendor back.
One is the Governor and does not change, the other four are Stewards of the POT. I also have house lots in that POT and all others are listed as Co-Owners.
Now it can get complicated, I admit. If one of my Stewards places a no-trade restricted item on the POT land, then only that avatar can remove it, though all have the ability to move it from place to place. The same applies to house lots, thus the item cannot be moved from the lot to the POT.
A teleport item (wagon, boat, etc.) can be placed by any of my avatars on POT land. However it can only be picked back up by the avatar who did the purchase, though all the others can shift it around. (This can involve picking up the outline and carefully running to where I want it without dropping it when red.)

Wow, how much information! thank you very much to all.

The free banker and town crier thing is great news, I was worried that if I put them I wouldn't be able to put any more NPCs. I appreciate your offer and add you as a friend, but I'm afraid the conversations could last hours because I have to use a translator, write, copy, paste... but I would love to visit your POT if you would be kind enough to tell me the name and location, please.

I have that list, but I'm also wondering if it's up to date. In any case, the list contains a lot of must-have items, although I think titan statues should be items and not NPC buildings.

Thank you very much everyone, I will expand my list of questions as they arise.

I don't want to detract from the POT FAQ thread, so I'm going to tell it here.
    I finally bought a POT!

Next month I will finish my law degree and I have taken advantage of the sales to buy the POT as a gift for myself.
To say that I am excited would be an understatement, I am super super excited!
My POT will be called Regnum. I have many ideas and very few resources so I will make it grow little by little, it is a project for a long, long time.
When I got my first row deed when I started playing, I only thought about having a city deed. And now I'm going to be governor!
Now I just have to endure the impatience of waiting for my POT to appear in the world (sigh).
    I'm happy!

So looking forward to seeing your town and how you will be setting it up! Once you do get your POT added to the game, make sure to craft a Chest and rename it to something like Town Donations. And place it appropriately in your town and adjust the permissions on the chest to allow anyone to add to it, but only you can take items from it.

I will then be sure and drop by and give you a welcoming gift! :D

I second the suggestion from Anpu. I will also drop by. Let us know what you need most and hopefully the other Governors will help a new Governor out.

Congratulations! Did you name it after the game, Russian state media or simply because Regnum means reign/rule?

Regnum, from Latin. The POT has the same name as my clan. I am Spanish and I wanted a name in a more or less neutral language, although this is not entirely correct, since Spanish comes from Latin, and English is a Germanic language but as Romans and Britons crossed paths at some point in the time, surely they learned something from each other :D

That's exactly how it is! I stayed seated so my husband wouldn't think I had gone crazy but every few minutes I would clap my hands and say "yupiii".

If they grant me the location I have chosen, the POT will be located between Ardoris and Soltown, on the edge of the dark forest where the Tower of the Shuttered Eye is located, a totally appropriate place for the background of my POT.
I appreciate all your offers, thank you, thank you. Once again, and I won't get tired of saying it, the people of SotA are the best.

As someone who also bought a POT and was rather confused at first, here are some resources for you to read for when your POT is finally added to the game @Lilith Ayin :

Section on POT in the Player Instructions: Player-Owned Town Management
I also created some basics to explain what a POT IS and what you should expect to receive when you purchase one, and the various differences of them: Player Owned Town

Do give those a read just so you are caught up on the basics. :)

This is horrible. I have been patiently saving up for months to be able to buy the POT and now that I have bought it, I don't have the patience to wait for it to be on.
I go with my character jumping from thing to thing, now I'm going to kill reapers, now bears, now I'm going to fish, now I'm going to a siege... I'm going to have a heart attack waiting.
My husband, who also plays SotA, doesn't care about these things about towns, houses and decorations, and I don't have anyone to share my impatience with, so I come here to vent. How hard is the wait!

    Oh the sweet suffering!

Unfortunately, your POT probably won't come online until the 28th.
