It does when you consider the alternative. That's just plain boring.

I still think a wolf dropping a suit of armor, two potions and some coins is lame...

Why? What about finding some discarded gear after killing a wolf bothers you so much?? Are you trying to talk yourself into believing that the wolf was wearing the gear? Why can't it just be nearby? Maybe you found the gear in the wolf's den, or the wolf was savaging the body of a dead hero, and you killed the wolf?

I guess if looting wolves causes you that much trouble, you could avoid combat with wolves, stick to killing things with inventories. Still, it's gonna be really weird when one of those drops a wolf pelt, or nothing.

I doesn't "bother me" really, it just seems stupid. There is plenty of room for creatures in a fantasy setting which would carry loot... Simple concept; your attempt at sarcasm is noted.

I haven't made an ATTEMPT at sarcasm since I was eight. If one of my jokes or jabs seems lame, it's safer to assume you missed something.

To me, the concept of whinging over what loot the mobs drop seems an utter waste of time. Shall we really demand that the devs take time away from streamlining the combat system, or adding to it, or improving the graphix, just so they can balance endless loot tables FLUFF to be utterly realistic? I would rather Portalarium spent it's time hacking my computer and installing custom virii on my system than waste their time doing that. There are DOZENS of places that we need those programmers more than in the brain-churning boredom that would be involved in making sure that no inappropriate item ever dropped from a random mob.

Why are you discussing a moot point anyway?

In SotA we can see that animals won't make random loot drops of gold and swords. The animals are dropping skins, meat and other resources.
There is no reason to believe that this will change.

And risk an OD? Bro, my air conditioner just reached over and turned ME up. I just don't feel a need to submit to substandard ridicule.

You're right, I just founded a religion based on how little attention I'm paying to your efforts, I really need to rethink this thing. Tibet, here I come. I hope they have WiFi.

For this to work you'd need to carry cooking equipment with you, pause from you adventures, build a fire, and cook the meat. I'm not saying it isn't practical, just pointing out the drawbacks. :)
