    Hopefully some of these get scaled down in difficulty and put into the outskirt zones. That would be a cool new player experience.

    curious how they will be implemented - The coolest way would be fi you finished the skins on harvestable trees FIRST then added these so if a plyer goes up and starts chopping the reaper wakes up and kicks their hinnies.

    Incredible! Very cool.

    I was just about to ask what weins said above. Why not have these be the trees people try to cut down?

    I hope there's some kind of rare type of crafting ingredient that comes from killing these. I want to make a good staff out of that wood.

    Love BDR's idea that there is some wood crafting ingredient from them.

    But I am not sure about making them look like harvestable trees. I think sticking them nearby those trees from time to time would be good.

    Still very cool looking though. :)

    It will surly fool new players. But not people that play the game with any type of consistency.

    Also, just thinking aloud here....

    I get the sense that players will see these things a mile away (or use T to target them) and shoot at range. The monster will stumble around through its first animations while getting hit by the players, and it won't be much of a content in the early rounds of a fight.

    If I were designing this, I'd want to require the players to get close to the tree to trigger the ambush, that way players can't run around shooting at these things from range and never really risking anything. There should ideally be a big attack the moment the Reaper becomes active, and the Repear shouldn't be active until it can actually do some damage to someone.

    The above screenshots are from a test level. He'll be better camouflaged in game among trees that look much more similar to him.

    That's a great idea for getting another wood type in the game, plus apple seeds, pulp,sap, catipillars and other tree generated items as possible loot from them;).

    I too love how they look. I am really excited. The tree and animations are absolutely wonderful looking.
