Right now the Hidden Vale ferry is still outside Ardoris for development historical reasons.

But now with permanence closing in and all the regions and towns in the game, could we please move the ferry to the location it is supposed to be in for R29?

    Thank you.

Spinndrift bay, or Northeastern Novia. Used to be linked to Brittany in the old map. Could have linked to Graff Island/Port Graff in the blurry hint of a map Richard showed in one of the hangouts but the image was too low res to tell precisely.

Ahhh, now that would make perfect sense.

A boat from HV to Novia that begins in Kingsport (you know, the King's "port") should naturally link to the King's home city.
I've wondered when that would happen......

Good point, Spoon.... I agree, let's get it where it rightfully belongs.... Brittany.

I think it has been pending Brittany getting added to the game...

If it's important to the game, I'd say move it, yet if it's important because of some historical thing mentioned on an old map, then I'd say no, just add a second route. That is to say that, I'd rather preserve actual history of our game's development rather than some preservation of an outdated map's references, which can just "be included" within our Kingsport destinations.

I haven't read the story because I'm saving it till all the quest's launch date as a surprise to myself. So if it's for gaming reasons, yes move that sucker, but if it's not, just add a ship in the harbor. If an Ardoris connection doesn't conflict upon quest mechanics, or trade or whatever mechanics, then leave that route in and just add whatever needed port of call.

If it's the cloth map, then I guess it would be the correct thing to do... "if the cloth map has already been made"...

You all realize that changing the boat from Ardoris to Brittany will further isolate the Hidden Vale as all the starting areas are on the other side of control points, right?

The logic / story behind it if you so please is that the island of the Hidden Vale is off the northeastern side of Novia.
You can see this in the Benefactor icon, like in this picture below:

~Teleport Freedoms & Land and Sea Travel Freedoms~
With all that has been lifted as far as teleporting (we haven't anything final, as final means finished game)... I am reluctant to see how adding differs from diverting, "unless we need pinch points" for our meteor showers or trade good transport channels, teleport trade restrictions or some future PvP zone on the high seas restrictions. In short, it's an island with many sea worthy destinations...

~On the Counter Side of Objections~
The island is called "The Hidden Vale", and opening it up would seem having less of anything hidden about it... but then it's "Kingsport" which could mean a major entry for many destinations, or an exclusive leading to some King's Castle.

    ~Trade Transport~
I am a believer in restrictions of trade by bulk because of our future usefulness of pack animals, wagons, sea going ships and air ships having trade possibility of bulk goods as a purpose. Otherwise they're only fishing boats and PvP war ships.

    ~History, Real vs Written~
I am a prude when it comes to actual history becoming obsolete with written history taking truth's place...

Maybe I need more caffeine to understand this...

Yea, though isn't the Hidden Vale also now much larger in comparison to Novia than it was originally meant to be ?

Yes, it seems that way, but only by about +33%. But if we count the regional POI then it fits very nicely into a standard region of Novia.
So it all depends on what Portalarium puts in forms of longitude latitude on the maps.

But its also travel time, though, that you could use to measure size, and not just long and lat.
