I wonder why that isn't available on the gforce experience ... grrrrrr. The whole point of that stupid app is to keep
me up to date isn't it?

I'm downloading it now to give it a go. This game simply is no fun at less than 1 fps lol.

After updating the driver, it doesn't drop to 1fps so far. However, it's still reseting shortly after enabling shadows.

Just tried logging in and WHOA, this is unplayable. Rolling back my driver like Walmart rolls back those prices! ;)

    ***UPDATE***
Ummm yeah, thanks for the borked driver NVIDIA. This was 100% the problem, after rolling back I am able to play again with over 60 FPS

You would have had the same results likely just by exiting and re entering.

To be clear, enable shadows and the PC restarts ie cold boot after 1 - 4 minutes. Every time.

I would suggest @Kaffien you reinstall sota - as blue screens which I hope is whats quietly happening, is likely from a corrupt file.

I have reinstalled it. Repaired it. Stripped all Nvidia drivers. Reinstalled them. Upgraded all chipset drivers. This happened after the latest release. No failed patches etc. I will do another reinstall on Monday.

I see you are rendering SotA on microsoft basic rendering device, that is why you are having such FPS problems. I am not sure if this has to do with an update from Microsoft or NVIDIA messing up.
microsoft seems to have this problem once in a while. (check google).

    Try:

Disable Auto Driver Updates from Windows Updates
    http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...matic-installation-turn-off-windows-10-a.html

Then uninstall NVIDIA Drivers & Software; reboot as needed, then install latest "WHQL" version. http://www.geforce.com/ During NVIDIA installer, select Custom and tick "Clean Install" box.

What I mostly do is using DDU to fully remove everything from AMD/NVIDIA in safe mode
Reboot, then install the latest GPU drivers, reboot. And your good to go.

The issue was Nvidia kept becoming unavailable. The driver was buggy. The new hotfix mentioned earlier fixes this. The random resets are another bug. I will start a new thread on that if it continues.

@Lexie I think we need a post somewhere especially for 1060 owners because someone on discord over the weekend (eg just now) had launcher crashes, but weirdly could play the game the launcher was failing to make the device.. so, i got them to apply the hotfix everything is working now.

Yes, everyone has to make sure their drivers updated - this will always be the scenario for troubleshooting of course :) I'd shout it from the rooftops if I could. There isn't one good spot to remind folks. For now, I will keep saying it :)
