Haha thats the spiritxzczt !
I would suggest that the game is full of role players who don't even realize they are role playing. Anyone who gathers resources, refines them, crafts, enchants and masterworks items and then sells them in-game is a dedicated role player.
Anyone who writes books for sale in our bookstores is a role player, as is the bookstore owner.
Anyone who writes or performs in a play presented in-game is a role player.
There are many other examples, and I suggest few if any of these players consider themselves to be role players, yet they are closely mimicking the expected actions of someone living in the society created by the game.
They are living the life of an inhabitant of New Britannia.
Does this not make them role players?
That is also my point of view, but I didn't dare say it because I don't want to alienate them even more
I mean "technically" in every video game you're playing the role of someone else.
If it's a completely original role, then its yours like many here...
SOTA leaves us a particularly large frame of mind...
the plot is very open, the cabalists maybe dealing on many worlds... technically if we follow the ultima series the shadowlords were also mingling on earth... the titans built the oracle but obviously not the portals...
Thus someone that says : ima farm the hell out of this game and make a profit, also is metaphorically speaking serving the same master.
So their role is to be completely numbed to others, to be a kind of agent smith for the matrix...
My avatar is from Sosaria. WTF is Earth?
It’s where Paladins are from.
yep, sometime around Charlemagne, 8th century I think.
