Theoretically. But practically real life and other hobbies limit the time available for SotA and so the number of people who GM everything and spend countless hours to earn the millions of XP for it will stay rather limited in number.

Even the gifted deed from the starter quests costs taxes once a place has been chosen, so for everyone who does not (yet) need a whole house or land lot it makes sense to rent a room.
And inns and rooms are available in places where the "standard" row house that would come with the gifted deed doesn´t fit the players taste.

 

All nice words... now if you go out and actually try to find a tenant for you vacant room, different story.

I hope you're not implying that the existance of a forum section somehow proved that the thing exists and function as intended.

No, I tried to imply that you can only say for sure if you would find a tenant if you publicy post an offer in the forum intended for offering and searching for rooms using the "PTR" tag as explained in the FAQ there.

 

At one time there were no free deeds for anyone so we did try to get a decent rental system in the game but to no avail. Now that we have finally got a way to get free deeds in this game it seems the interest in players wanting to use the Inn or other player room options has perhaps been wrongly ignored. There were some good threads about ideas to allow players to become tenants of the Inns and other housing to be effortlessly. Ideas such as by purchasing a key off a registration named vendor allows room rentals. Then the player could just go to the room of choice and insert the key to obtain the room. After a certain amount of time the key would expire and the player would need to purchase another key to reset the time. This was one idea mentioned during our plea for room rentals but as with many of our ideas nothing was implemented.

 

Well no one is holding you from trying

 

There really should be buffs for sleeping. Maybe 4 Earth hours (4 SOTA days) worth of buffs. In order to promote community, maybe you get different/additional buffs for sleeping in an inn. The same could go for meals, you get better buffs by eating with others in a inn.

 

Even more buffs then there are already? Player nowadays are such pussys - give me a hard penalty every time.
Not sleeping every day? Healing speed halved and all attributes lowerd by 1 / night without sleep.
Not eating every day? No natural healing at all and -1 health / day without food.
Swimming in full armour or encumbered? Same focus cost as jogging.
