Chapter V - The Dark Convention
    (Key-Confrontation-Scene)

Joy and happiness came over the Novians, once they heard of the miracle: Priestess Khasi and Shogun Siranto were now once again among the living. This miracle was needed in those times of darkness. It brought hope to the hopeless, it calmed those who were still terrified by the latest nightmares...

During the last months, Darius, the Elite Guard of Ardoris, has been operating with a squad of brave warriors and sneaky Elven spies to find out as much as possible about the dire plans of the Obsidians and everyone who followed them. He has just finished a meeting with his best spies who reported the shocking, yet invaluable news to him. He rushed to his desk and sent out word to all the virtuous ones he knew. He knew, the message had to be clear for all the Outlanders, so he made an effort to write in their language:

    EVENT DESCRIPTION:
    • This Event is the result of recent, unexpected twists in the story.
    • A group of Avatars, who stand on the dark side will gather on November 4th (RL time: Today, Saturday 2PM Central Time/21:00 CET) in a domain in Brittany Fields.
    • (Note: This time, there won't be a giant Arch-Enemy with Super-Powers like in the Dysborg-Battle)
    • One of the dark Avatars (not to be disclosed which one) holds a key-item that is essential for the virtuous Avatars to win the war against the Obsidian Messenger. This one Avatar must be killed (or convinced to hand over the item via a friendly conversation, bribing, threatening or any other method that may come to your mind).
    • This Event is optional PvP, meaning you can come with the Oracle's protection for verbal interaction only (which most likely will not help save Novia in this case), or without the Oracle's protection if you actually want to stop the evil Avatars.
    • If all (or the mayority) of the dark Avatars and the Avatar holding the key-item, are defeated, the key-item must be handed over to the virtuous ones.

    THE AVATARS ARE VICTORIOUS IF:

    • They claim the key-item

THE AVATARS WILL BE DEFEATED IF:

    • They are defeated by the unvirtuous ones
    • They fail to claim the key-item

As usual, the story will continue its course in both cases

    ... MEANWHILE ...

Jude, again wearing his special Armor, so no one could identify him, materialized beside his friends infront of Brittany Fields.
    'Hurry, friends! Time is close!'
'We are ready! And all those Avatars around!", Dupre said proud. 'Look, over there! Paladin Michael is also there ...'
'Yes, and all Guards are informed about!', Ariel added.
'This time we are prepared!', Fiona told with a smile. 'Let's stop them!'

    ... to be continued ...

Arkah, just recieving word of the pending Battle at Brittany Fields, rushed through the fields as he heard voices shouting through the chaos. He immediately recognized Cathrine and Atrax, but could not find them. "Im late! Im here to help! Who is the target!" He shouted to @CatherineRose .

"The dark ones!" She shouted back, Arkah was frustrated for he knew from the letter that one of these dark ones had to possess the final page of Zaleena's Notes. "Atrax! WHO is the target!" he shouted into the fight as a ice arrow wizzed by only inches from his face. Atrax and his Army were HEAVILY engaged with the House of Mangar, so he did could not respond to Arkah, likely not even hearing him. Arkah recognized Dahnas chasing the enemy out of the battle as he tried frantically to recover from the attacks. Arkah rushed in applying a poison to his blade and lept forward, slashing at the Mangar soldier with a brilliant spark of electricity.

"AAAAHHHHH" Immediatly after Dahnas finished off the soldier Arkah was Ablaze! He ran and hid behind a nearby building and put out the fires on him. "DAMMIT that hurt". This time he looked into the fighting tryign to determine WHO they were after, but it was far too chaotic to make out an objective. The fields were ablaze with soldier agaisnt soldier. Trying againt to get in closer, Arkah checked another nearby buildin g for enemy occupants before rushing with Antrax attempting to Aid him in taking out his target so that he could ask him again where the target was, but again, Arkah was caught in a crossfire and tripped over himself stumbling around a corner before being assaulted by Mangar himself.

After regainign conciousness, Arkah foudn himself on the far end of the fields and lost. He suddenly heard Antrax shouting "We've taken the fortificatioN! It is ours!" Arkah excitedly screamed "HUZZAH!" Just before he heard hemswal's familiar voice: "Fools! The page was under your noses the ENTIRE time! You have lost, AGAIN! MUAHAHAHAHA"

"What?!" Arkah was taken aback for a moment. One failure after another was begining to wiegh on him. These Obsidians were always a step ahead of them no matter what they tried. Once the battle died down, Arkah hid near @Antrax Artek and said to him "I greatly appreciate you guys." He didnt know what else to say as he left brittany fields

    ~----------

Ont he road near brittany Arkah ran into Amarth Shadowstring, another bard of his guild. "Thank you for your music during the battle" He said, "Often the effects of morale are neglected in crazyness like that."

"I played Darkest hour while we tookt he Fortress," Armarth proudly explained
"But we LOST AGAIN!" Arkah protested frustratedly before regaining himself. "But they DID fight hard!" he said reassuringly.

"Yes, you DID lose." A man in obsidian garb approached them on the bridge. "You may have killed many of our men, but you did not achieve your objective." The man sneered then laughed maniacally, "You couldnt find her! MUAHAHA"

Arkah clenched his fists and turned to the stranger. "Your with the OBSIDIANS?! WHY?!" He shouted angrily, already knowing the answer. He did not know this man but was always furious when the dark nature of people was flaunted freely without concern. "Why help the obsidians, what do they offer you.."

"I do not discuss matters of the order with those Not int he order," The dark figure spoke with an air of authority, "You cannot help but align yourself with those who are most powerful. That was made obvious today."

Arkah scowled at the response, "Sadly, the need for self preservation drives many to take that same path."

The obsidian wizard shrugged dismissivly, "To each their own. You say Self Preservation, I say survival of the fittest."

Arkah was dishearted. Seeing this man explaining his reasons for joining the order was like seeing a dark plague engulf the world to him. He closed his eyes realizing he was now struggling for a brief moment to hold back tears. He felt sorry for the man.

"Could you tell me, only because I'm curious," He asked quietly. "Are you agaisnt the oracle's judgment?"

The obsidian replied, "The oracle is a sham to make you compliant."

'The oracle is a sham.' Arkah thought, and forced a sad smile. "We at least have that belief in common."

"I must go, I am being Beckoned," The wizard turned to leave, as Arkah said "I truly hope i do not meet you on the battlefield."

So it came, that I also entered Brittany Fields, watching a great spectacle!

    So many Avatars around!

I also recognized Dupre, Ariel, Fiona and another fighter, wearing the Armor of Love, in the distance!
It seemed they were watching us, and if required, they would take action ...

The power of Hemswal the descended and his companions seemed unbreakable!
However it would end, a lot of us followed to show, that we won't give up our effort to defeat the evil ...

It took Malice a good few minutes to stop her hands from shaking. She made it out alive. She was still having a hard time believing that she really survived the battle of Britanny Fields, without being revealed even once. That she really was in relative safety now, at one of the Master's other properties. That the ripped page from Zaleena's book was still in her possession.

She could have sworn that the woman in red that was standing and dancing on the portcullis had looked her right in the eye not only once, but several times, but whatever that woman's reasons might have been, she chose to remain silent about it. When Anthrax fought Kardall up there, his swing missed her by mere inches. Malice had already seen her end coming, but mysteriously, she was spared. A few times she was tempted to come to the aid of her protectors, but that would have been ironic, actually. They all had offered to fight and suffer for her, for the ripped page from Zaleena's book that should never happen up in the hands of those that would prevent the new rise of the Obsidian rule. She would make their willingness for sacrifice absurd, if she decided to blow her cover to come to their aid. No, all she could do was stay in hiding, avoid being hit by magic and weapons, and wait for a chance to escape Britanny Fields. And when that chance came almost a Novian day after the battle had started, she took it and did not look back to her companions that were still fighting to retreat.

The Obsidian Messenger's Dark Orb was safe. The secret of its destruction known to only two people, as far as she knew: Master Hemswal and his most loyal apprentice.

More and more Avatars have chosen the path of darkness, and so they gathered all together in Hemswal's Domain. To prepare for the final fight on December 1st and support the return of the Obsidian Empire. But thanks to Darius' spies, they were found and ambushed. The night of November 4th, a brutal fight between light and darkness unleashed on the Brittany Fields.

When the unvirtuous Avatars noticed the ambush, they immediately hid Malice, who held the invaluable piece of information that was desired by so many. And so Malice lurked in the shadows until the end of this brutal battle. The troops of darkness were strongly decimated and eventually, abandoned the Keep. The territory was secured, the conventioned successfully interrupted, but the essential item was not retrieved and remains in the hands of the dark Avatars.
