    Oh man! This sounds great!

    I can't run Fantastic Settings in the POT that I'm inhabiting, our crafting pavilion area has so many lights and so many objects... it's maddeningly slow on the FPS... So, I've been running everything closer to the middle... (And my system is NO slouch... GTX 1080, 16gb of RAM, EVO 960 m.2 NVMe SSD, Ryzen 7 - 1700 CPU...)

    I look forward to going back to Fantastic Settings... R48 really hit my system in the nads!

    Were those frame rates with the bugged terrain? I have a feeling that might be giving artificially higher numbers.

    @Nelzie Lights around lots of deco still kills frames, but it's slightly less of a slideshow.
    @Echondas I did notice bugged terrain in a few POTs, but not Brittany. If those numbers are with bugged terrain, I didn't notice the bugged terrain in question.

    Still a lot of work left to do but glad to get a bit of progress under our belts!

    I've found disabling shadows, as disappointing as that is, increases frame rates across the board by 33%. I don't do it though, because the shadows MAKE the ambiance of the game. But if you're just looking for a "quick fix" for your system, don't forget to try that.

    I just gave this a try in Brittany at the docks, same location, angle, distance. Checked during the day and night.

    R48 = 23-26 fps
    R49 = 27-31 fps

    Slight improvement, but nothing like the gains seen in the OP. But an improvement nonetheless! There are still sections of Brittany that drop into the teens, but looking forward to when every scene is completely optimized.

    Skylake with Titan Xp, all stock speeds. Fullscreen windowed @ 2560x1600. Fantastic settings.
