SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: SotA Release Schedule Update

We are working diligently on detailing our schedule for 2016. We plan to provide you with an update as soon as next week (but definitely before the end of January). We are very excited because this schedule will include the date of our final wipe as well as the start days and times for final lot selection.

Very happy about this. There is nothing I want more than a release date.

The thing is the final wipe is effectively release - particularly in terms of the persistent world. But it's not release because we probably won't be out of alpha/beta. It's a very strange situation and one I think is going to have a lot of repercussions down the line.

 

I'm hoping for some snowy PRT biomes for release.

If they decided upon a December release date this year they would need to add around 10 keep lots per month to cater for the people at this pledge level, if I'm not mistaken. I believe there is a push for a final wipe this year and as it tends to take about 2 or 3 months to create a single town, I suspect we'll see a large number of generic templated NPC towns to achieve this. At any case very interested to see what they have planned.

 

Aye, not enough cities to house us all that aren't going to PoT's, so I imagine we'll see a lot of PRT's coming online. I'm just hoping for some snowy scened ones. Winter would be a good time Thanksgiving/Christmas for the holiday sales.

 

Note: The date of the final wipe is the thing that everybody asks about.

No one is saying that there won't be more wipes in between the final wipe, and R26.

 

Right now I'm just hoping we might finally get to see a Duke island keep in game, I plan on making one my home during the crazy land rush so I really hope the dev's make enough of these so I don't miss out.

 

I am happy to hear that they are confident on a release date, ( or at least a final wipe ).

@Baron and Frostll -- If 3 Months means a better game or a game that is not rushed than I can surely wait

 

We've been assured several times that there will be enough lots in game for us.

Recently I fielded some questions about Lot Deeds that were centered around concern that a person might purchase a Lot Deed from the Add On Store or receive it as a backer reward but not be able to find a lot to claim. Let me assure everyone that we will never sell more Lot Deeds outside of the game than there are lots in the game. On top of that we will make sure there is a significant number of lots available for in game purchase at launch.

 

Aye, good catch there. Will be good to finally know a set release date, and to know when our lot selections start. Then I can start planning a few vacations since we'll have the dates. A week vacation for the game, and a couple weeks real vacation.

 

I'm not worried about there not being a lot available, only that there may not be a water lot available as I suspect these will be somewhat rare compared to that of land based lots.
