Details:
The balance of loudness of effects seems to have changed. Some towns doors are very loud to the forcing turning down, but then cannot hear the surrounding environment.

There is distortion and clipping in some sounds. See Soltown bug.

Realtek Audio Driver and Soundblaster Connect.
Loudness equalization use to be able to normalize this but its not working the same, external windows sounds mute SOTA -8-10DB my guess.

Agreed - the overall mix of in-game sounds needs a little polish. For example - I remember a review saying there were no footstep sfx - there are, but the level is a bit too low - so I can see people missing it unless using headphones, or with the music off and just sfx enabled.
