That picture of Akalabeth lol, I think he might the right choice getting his firiend to do the artwork and continuing to do it from then on, some of the most memorable game covers were from Ultima imo.

I never heard of Spoony until the Kickstarter. I went and watched his U9 videos, which we re good. I'll probably watch more of his stuff; I went and subbed his YT channel.

I had hoped this would be more of a roast; like if Spoony had come with a prepared list and just went down the line while RG had to just take it and chuckle. Maybe if they did it with an audience, like at the Spike VGAs? Though honestly this is for such a niche audience I don't know how well it would have played. Done well, with like, a powerpoint accompanying it for those not in the know, it could have worked.

The closest came with Joe's Corporate Commander character, which was pretty funny. I remember thinking the same thing years ago... EA's Madden-esque on time ship KPI applied to an RPG. It seemed ludicrous to me then; but now it's like... so many years have passed.

I think an interesting topic would be the Guardian and the sphere generators as they relate to EA and its old logo. Why did they cave? Why sell?

Wow. I didn't like that at all. I struggled a lot with what kind of snarky comment to make that would show my displeasure of the interview style (or lack thereof) in the OP video. I settled on this one.

Did Lord British randomly pick someone in the United States to do an interview with?

 

Loved the Spoony/Richard interview and it really reinforced what I was hoping to see in Richard's mind when it comes to creative game design. Very glad I backed this game.

 

I hope he does a part three where RG actually gets back to SotA and beyond.

 

Why hasn't this been posted on the SoTA website yet. It was, after all, part of the $1.5 Million stretch goal and needs to be linked there. I seem to be finding out things more by forum posts than by whats on the website.

 

Pretty sure this will be in the next update (probably this afternoon). They did send out links on G+ but I don't use Facebook or other Social Medias. And, of course, this is only part 1.

 

Yeah, it's funny how the community will find out about this stuff even before the Devs do. We're just rabid for information and all things SotA.

 

Spoony does video game and movie reviews.

He's a huge fan of Ultima and has reviewed them qutie extensively, from good ones to the ones that fell short (IE Ultima IX).

The reason he got him is because Richard is also ao fan of him but also because Spoony is a fan and also did quite a jab at the series with his Ultima IX review:


Lots of people wanted to see Richard actually talk to Spoony because of this review, which I am hoping they will talk about in another part of this interview series.

 

Where is the beef?! I was expecting more of this roast.. it's not a bad interview but I know Spoony can do better. I also agree that maybe a little more scripted interview would have served the purpose better.

I hope there is a bit more juice in the 2nd part.

I've been waiting for this for a long time, ever since the Kickstarter hit that stretch goal.

I've been a fan of Spoony for many years, I started watching him because Hardcore Gaming 101 did an article about the Phantasmagoria "series" (anytime there is more than one game made for a given franchise, its a series to them), and in the article for Phantasmagoria 2, there was a link to Spoonys playthrough of it, complete with hilarious commentary. I then became a fan of other Thatguywiththeglasses.com personalities over time, even going to conventions that featured said personailities (like ConBravo in Canada).

I think everyone needs to watch all of Spoonys reviews of the Ultima game series, especially the 2nd part of 9, because it really hits home (you'll know what part I'm talking about when you see it).
