Suggestion: Please add buying bank slots for crowns in the banking UI, also update text

So I was answering a Q regarding bank slots which got me thinking.

Banking is one of those things that are a big part of the initial experience of the game. So might be worth giving some love.

Please add buying bank slots for crowns in the banking UI. That way it is intuitive and easy for the player to add some slots 'on the fly'. To make it as easily accessible as possible I'd recommend using 1 crown for x slots so that the threshold to purchase is as low as possible.
This would be one of those spur of the moment purchases which you want to build your business on.

Also a couple of other points related to this (don't have game access right now so some could be moot):

Judging by the question linked above it might not be clear enough in the Banking UI that the cost is increasing the more you have purchased. So might want to consider making that a bit more clear.

The bank upgrade in the addon store is too hidden away in the 'Other' section, which means that the vast majority of players don't know this even exists.

Do we have a direct link from the Banking UI to the item in the store? Don't recall, but if we don't then we should add that as well.

When reading the text in the addon store some of it is confusing since it deals with historical data

Please remove the introductory since its been a year now.

True, but confusing for new players. Since so much time has passed we might skip that bit.

IIRC you removed the weight limit.
"Bank NPCs are found in major cities."
You changed that principle so that they are now in all cities.

you can withdraw from any banks as long as it is the same scene
etc

 

I do not know if that wouldn’t be more confusing than just the possibility to buy slots with gold.
You would see there the option to add slots for gold (starting with 100 gold) and additionally an option to buy 20 slots for 1 gold crown. Some might think on first sight “profiteering” as they wouldn’t see directly the price increase of the by gold purchased slots. Both options would most likely also take a larger area in the UI and that might give the wrong impression and explaining everything might need an even larger area in thew UI.

Maybe it could be possible that there is e.g. a special vendor selling bank slots for crowns with different numbers of slots depending on the type of crown.
E.g. gold crown = 20 slots; white iron crown = 15 slots,…

Regarding the rest of your post…yeah, I think there are even some more outdated info snippets but as there are still changes every now and then keeping everything up to date is difficult. But you are right…maybe one of the devs should reread the info and do a rework.

If that is an issue then maybe the bank buildings could have the Banker for deposits and withdrawals but that they also add a Bank Clerk for other banking related activities. Like buying slots.

That way that would be the difference between smaller and larger towns.

Yea. I think that banking is such s large bit of the new user experience that it is one of those topics that needs to be up to date.

But yea there are lots of outdated info due to the iterative model and not enough dev bandwidth to fix it all.
