Think about it. Houses that are larger on the inside than they appear on the outside! How cool would that be!
Their are no loading screens when entering a house, so no lag. I don't see this being implemented because the houses have physical boundaries in the world.
I want to be able to see through the window of my enemy's home when hiding outside in the bushes. I want to see if he walks over to the table and eats the poisoned pie. What I don't want is for him to land on a house Icon and disappear while I am watching and wondering why there is a house Icon instead of a house.
I guess that is one way we can put mindcraft in the game. Everyone gets their own instance of land to play with. Maybe your house on the outside is the normal size but when you walk into your closet that takes you to your own land. Of course then I'm going to be fighting for the trapping skill so I can bring creatures to my own land.
That's a common feature in LOTRO. The houses there are all Larger on the Inside then the outside! it's because the Inside is an own instance. That way they save space.
Having individual houses in individual instances would ruin the immersion. I'm glad to know there won't be any delay when coming and going from house to house.
I have to agree with osullivan - ive experienced instance housing and its not really that fun at all. I prefer uninstanted housing Thanks, Matheryn
I hope that in SotA the Inside and the Outside are in the same "Instance" and you can look out of the windows of your house and see what actually happens, and not just an ugly texture of a closed windows where 1-3 rays of light are shining through,... @OSullivan: Nice Signature!
I am glad to know the housing isn't going to be instances, that sucks IMO. give me real time urban sprawl any day.
There are ways to make interiors bigger than exteriors without instancing. I dont really think it is a good idea in this case. I myself would like to see things be as accurate as possible.
