Hi everyone. Since the taming artifacts went into the game many people are excited. Me too. Problem is I need help with obtaining the stats of these taming artifacts that tamers need to know. I have been unlucky and never seen one drop in my pack while adventuring.

Please help contribute what new starts for artifact types you don't see here. Thank you.

If you are new to taming creatures, see my taming guide here - https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/f...g-and-other-taming-skills-r66-updated.112216/

Types of artifacts include: Common, Unommon, Rare, and Legendary. Each stop up increases the power of the tamer artifact. There are also recipes for each item to upgrade them from type XX to YY.

** Thank you to @Violette Dyonisys and @Grimbone for helping gather this information.

I have issue with the taming artifacts being light armor. I have used heavy armor since day 1 and now I feel that i am being forced to wear light armor as a tamer. I hope this is looked into.

You know that by keeping your chest piece a heavy armor piece, the worst that will happen if everything else is light armor is a 10% loss in SOME of you heavy armor skills right? Even less considering it is 3 pieces that take up heavy armor possibilities, so 7.5% less efficient. It is not much, and for the power it gives to your pet, I think it is a fair trade.

Thanks for the reply. I don't feel I should be forced into using light armor just to get the full benefits from the class. I should have the freedom to choose which type of armor I want to use and still get the full benefits from the Tamer class. I feel boxed in right now, I must use light armor pieces or I will not get the full benefits of the Taming artifacts and the class.

Why cant heavy armor tamers have the same benefits as light armor tamers when it comes to artifacts and taming? I never thought of a tamer as a light armor user. Since I have to tame my pet in melee range, and get beat up on until I am successful at taming the beast, I thought it was just common sense to go with heavy armor.

*EDIT: Just an FYI, I am adventure level 111, have 1764 points in Taming tree and ZERO points in the light armor tree.

    Ring of the Ringmaster, Uncommon

    +20 Tame Taunt Power

There, those I found while browsing wares today! Hope this helps your list!

As for @Grimbone I find that a Tamer should usually be Light armor, considering his pet will end up doing the tanking, The tamer no longer requires protection as much. Sure when taming you get hit a ton, but you could simply bring a friend who will tank the beast for you while you tame! It is all a matter of perspective and personnal feeling about the situation. At least 2 of the current artifacts can be worn without negative for you (Ring and Belt).

Yes, loving the Ring and the Belt. And, sorry for taking this thread a bit off topic, just a bit frustrated after years of wearing heavy armor. I will move on.

Hmmm, I wonder what your character must do... Must be using a Chaos Demon!

These items do look good! That bonus from the gloves though... Must be easy to tame destroyers at that point right?

The belt helps too, but not if the creature is at full health. It modifies the bonus given from lowering the mobs health.

The gloves don't help that much with taming destroyers.

Does it increase taming chance somehow or does it just make the bonus at low health 'window' larger?

We did not do extensive testing but it seemed like for snuggs it was 2% easier at half health, maybe 3%. Not a ton but at least something. I dont remember the level of the belt he had on at the time either, if it was common or rare.

So by reading this right.... that would mean that the passive skill in taming called "Obedience" which reads: "Reduces the health at which tamed creatures will flee combat", is wrong? It has the exact same thing as the belt; "-% tame health level modifier".

What exactly does "Reduces the health at which tamed creatures will flee combat" even mean????

Haha, I have been confused about this as well. I have been thinking about asking Chris what Obedience does on one of his live streams. I believe the Obedience skill worked as the tool-tip stated long ago because I remember my pet running away when fighting as a new tamer. Not sure, again it was long ago.

IMO, the skill should also work with the pets "Aggressive stance" because even at higher level the pet does not listen well when you tell it to attack while it is in "Aggressive stance". If I had it my way then the higher your Obedience skill, the better your pet would obey in "Aggressive stance".

As for screwed up tool-tips take a look at the Belt of Control. Lmao, pretty sure that tool-tip belongs on the Boots of the Energetic Tamer. o_O

No, the stats are right, the boots are fine and make sense since there is move speed and tame move speed... dont know what you are saying here....

ANYWAYS, I bugged the passive and we will wait to see what happens with it. Im convinced they fucked up and just forgot to change the wording to the real definition of the skill. Like you said, it makes more sense if the buff really meant that the health range of the mob you want to tame is increased so you can tame stuff faster by not having to bring them so low, and it gives more leeway to tame without having to constantly put damage. I still havent gotten a belt to drop so I cant test this theory :(
