If the blur effect is to increase the performance of the game, then there should be a progressively blur effect with the distance from the avatar. Also, when I was on the stone bridge near the main gate in Adoris, I could saw that the palace ,which is not too far away, is just too blur and not natural.

Tbf I think that is has improved performance though, at least for me. I don't crash in zones where you can see for miles like Sequanna Colossus, which was very frequent before. I do wish there were a lot more video options though, including disabling or adjusting this effect.

I agree that the blur is too much still.

I'm on the top graphics setting and find the level of blur disappointing with a new graphics card.

I hope they create a slider in the controls for this.

    Should be something optional.

I agree, it is a distraction. The problem as I see it is in visual acuity. When I look at my mountain view, the furthest mountains are muted in color not blurred. I can make out their various forms but no detail against the backdrop of the sky at all.

All post processing effects and indeed all video card options that are normally available in all modern video games, including but not limited to:
    Shadows
    Bump mapping
    Anti Aliasing
    HDR
    Bloom
    Depth of Field
    Field of View
    Texture Quality
    Ground clutter/grass
    Brightness
    Contrast
    Vsync
    Filtering (anisotropic, bi/trilinear, more)
    Water Detail
    Shader Detail
    Model Detail
Any kind of blur (motion, cinematic, etc)
    Any kind of additional glow.

Should all be client side options with toggles and sliders where appropriate.
Being unable to turn off these unnecessary features & options is... well, considering how poor the performance in Shroud is, it's adding insult to injury. Forcing them on is ridiculous.
