The Making of Superstition Canyon

Hey folks, Sea Wolf here with another level update featuring Superstition Canyon! The new canyon features a blending of the alpine and hills biomes. The further up in elevation you get, the colder it becomes. The canyon also features some castle ruins, an undercroft, and the remains of an elven settlement which can be explored.

Cool. Nice to see architectural elements and natural elements we haven't seen elsewhere in the game.

 

This is a beautiful scene. I'll need to level up more, so I can admire it quietly after vanquishing the critters that will inhabit it.

To a degree. These particular castle assets have no interiors, but you will be able to explore the castle.

 

As someone who lives in Jaanaford, I am absolutely looking forward to visiting this place once its published. This is always my 'go through' control point whenever I needed to get through the mountains and onto the other side. Will be nice to see it become more challenging, while something new to explore .
And from looking at it, I will probably bring my B&W camera with me and do some landscape shoots here.

 

Critters:
probably Undead or Kobolds or Elves and Wolves/Bears like in 100 other zones...
Maybe spiders too

Mob variation is "very" limited here.

 

Considering its close proximity to Vertas, it most likely will be elves.

 

Probably so, but to me the name always conjures images of undead for some reason. Vertas Pass is right next door and it will almost certainly have elves, so having undead in SC (undead elves?) would at least provide some variety.

 

Perhaps, but it presently contains elves, and it is most likely that it wont change. However, that doesn't mean that it cant have both. I can envision one section with undead.

 

That would be cool. I think @Sea-Wolf mentioned during the telethon that the "bad" elves had killed off the "good" elves in SC so maybe the angry spirits (undead) of the good elves still linger there.
